Re: Spring Football: Close look at the secondary

This will be one of the most interesting position battles of the spring for me. I know that the battle of QB's is most likely the biggest factor in this teams success for the entire year but I think that no matter who takes the QB spot there will be some growing pains. This means our D will need to have similar success as last year in getting stops and turnovers to give our offense as many posessions as possible.

Man I cant wait till April 16th!
“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

I'm surprised at how the article promotes the physicality of the unit. Especially with Watson and Reeves playing heavy roles, their size concerns me at 176 and 165. It seemed last year they were always in position but often out-muscled.

What happened to Anthony Young? IIRC he started the first 4ish games of last season and we never really saw him much after that. Was it just because of how well Jeremy Reeves came on? Young got beat a few times but I thought it looked like he certainly had the tools.

At times maybe, not not often. If they are always in position, it will be fine.

I think the "physical" part also reffered to quickness and speed, not just strength.
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan.

He got injured, but I don't think he was ever in front of Reeves.
