Grant Rohach rated on Scout
Grant Rohach got rated on Scout as the 30th best QB prospect. Last year our highest rated player (on Scout) was JaQuarius Daniels who was rated the 62nd best QB. Now, this ranking will change before signing day (maybe up, maybe down), but we're off to a great start in recruiting. Scout.com: Grant Rohach Profile
Side story. We've offered 3 QBs, and we got 2 of them. The other, Matt Davis, has a street agent and will likely sign with Auburn (not kidding).

To me the ranking services mean some thing but really not much.(they are for entertainment purposes only) The only ranking that matter are the ones your coaches make about players. For the Hawks many past All Americans have not been rated highly at all by the services.

Re: Grant Rohach rated on Scout
That is a big commitment for Rhoads. Not just for the potential talent the kid brings but how it will also look to other recruits. I will say that following what dbqhawk is saying some rankings don't accurately reflect a players talents not always because they are wrong but sometimes because the evaluation those agencies perform don't match up well with how the team signing them will use them. However, that does go both ways as some kids don't live up to the hype while some find their groove once they reach campus and blow things up. Either way nice verbal.

The system a player goes into is huge in college football.

I'd actually rate Daniels fairly low in comparison with his 2011 ISU classmates. To me, Nealy, Richardson (QB), Lynn, Omoile, Pompey and Standard were the stars of the class. Daniels was more of an underated kid like Lemke, Irving and Ecby.

I agree about Scout not being the greatest, but its still nice to see our first commit is considered better than any recruit all of last year.

It's better to have your commits rated than not. Even if it means absolutely nothing as far as how good the kid actually is, it may bring some momentum and help sway other recruits.
