I took the plunge
I finally joined the Cyclone Gridiron Club tonight. I've been debating it for a few weeks and CW's remark that there were only 500 members pushed me over the edge. Looking forward to attending the CGC practice in the August.

Good work - every bit helps!

Re: I took the plunge
Very nice, wish more people would join.

Re: I took the plunge
I did a few months ago.
Quick question about it. I got a confirmation number saying that I joined but have not received one email or any sort of notification from the Club. Am i missing anything here?

Re: I took the plunge
I plan on joining. But I want to wait for a little bit. I just bought a new car and want to build up my cash reserves again. For those that are apart of the gridiron iron club, what kind of benefits do you get?

What does the gridiron club do?

Re: I took the plunge
Let me Google that for you...
In all seriousness, I joined last year and went on the trip to CO. Great people and great way to help out the football program. You also get credit towards your Cyclone Club donation with a Gridiron Club donation. Membership - Cyclone Gridiron Club http://www.cyclonegridironclub.com/AboutUs.aspx -
Re: I took the plunge
I wish I did this when I was in school. If you are a student it is only $25 for a yearly membership. You get to attend super secret football functions.
In all seriousness they organize some pretty cool away game functions and golf outings where I'm sure you get to hob nob with the football staff just to name a few.

Re: I took the plunge
Why is the thread title I took the plunge? I vote we change the threat title to: Finally made the brilliant decision...

Re: I took the plunge
Don't they have a golf outing at Dennis Albaugh's (sp?) course in Ankeny? I don't know if they do this every year, but I had a friend get to go a couple years ago and he said it was sweet. Got to play the course, tour his car garage, eat dinner, and mingle with the coaches.

Re: I took the plunge
I joined the GC recently as well. Attended the tailgate party at the spring game, and was very happy to be out of the wind, and not trying to grill out in that weather. Rhoads spent 5-10 minutes addressing the GC party. He put further emphasis on his thoughts about the good depth at OL and DL.
In case there are some here not aware of this....The Gridiron Club, and the Iowa State ticket office offer payment plans for donations, and tickets as well. ISU has really gone to bat in an effort allow people from all different incomes an opportunity to become a vital contributor at a low monthly payment...just throwing that out there.
I used to view Cyclone athletics as nice form of entertainment for quite a few years, and spent very little on it. Paul Rhoads has really changed my position on that. Rhoads is working his tail off to put a good product out there, and he needs our help.

No one can match our dedication and passion for Nintendo's classic sports titles...Tecmo Bowl & R.B.I. Baseball. In-depth strategy guides, player attributes, team rankings, along with incredibly detailed recaps of our season play. We don't reminisce, we just keep playing! -
Re: I took the plunge
I noticed that their membership info says 2010. Should I just use that or will they come out with 2011 information?
