I'm just saying it's very clear what the Gridiron Club is for and there is certainly a need for it.
Wells Fargo will match 100%. Actually, instead of donating to the United Way one year I did the ISU foundation, and somehow that money went to the NCC as well. It was kind of funny. I donated something like 800 dollars that year and didn’t realize it.
I work for ISU, no match (not complaining - they shouldn't) and my husband works for Deere. We tried to get Deere to match 2-3 years ago and they said no. Anyone else work for Deere and have a different experience? They said they wouldn't match for sports or if we received a benefit from the donation (better seats).
Our football program faces the biggest budget differecial compared to the rest of our confrence than almost any other major sport (Basketball); with football being an arms race with facilities, upgrades . I State is obviously behind in this area compared to the rest of the confrence.
So buying a hillside ticket all $99 of it goes to the general AD revenue budget and gets used for non football items as well as football items. That is why the Gridiron Club is so important to our program, as when the AD budgets are set out staff has the opportunity to still make improvments durring shortfalls that may not specifically be responsible for.
Bottom line, donate, it's a good thing...
