Teddy Lampkin (Track)
Clone fan here in Omaha and Teddy put up some nice marks yesterday at the Metro Conference Track Meet. Here is the link from the Omaha World Herald newspaper..... Anyone know if he plans to run track for us as well? Metro meet a two-person gold rush - Omaha.com -
Re: Teddy Lampkin (Track)
Very impressive. After 15 years without a four-gold winner, the Metro Conference track and field championships hit a double Wednesday with Ted Lampkin and LaQue Moen-Davis. Lampkin won the last event at Burke Stadium, the long jump, and registered the state's best mark this season of 23 feet, 3 ¼ inches. The Omaha Central senior also won the 100 meters and ran anchor on the state-leading 400 relay Wednesday after winning the triple jump Tuesday night. He said his 100 time of 10.69 was a personal best, and the relay team (42.18) fell just short of the 2007 meet record of 41.7. “It was a great meet,” said the Iowa State football recruit. “I'm very happy the way it went.” -

Football is where the ADs bread is buttered and we need him to be All In.

I think it's relatively rare for athletes to excel at both football and track. They are usually really good at one and not as good at the other depending on which one they emphasize.

Demps is one, Denard is another. As long as they are at spring ball I think it's fine. It's a good way for a receiver to train a little and stay in form. I don't have a problem with it. Plus, it keeps them out of trouble.

Re: Teddy Lampkin (Track)
I would bet that current ISU FB players running sub-11 100's are few and far between. Maybe West, James White, Reeves. Can't think of too many more.

Although he is very fast and im really excited he is coming here, but the time is a little off because it was extremly windy in Omaha yesterday during this meet so his 10.6 is not very accurate.

Re: Teddy Lampkin (Track)
You want you're body in two different shapes for track and football. He shouldn't run track at ISU. Jammal Charles ran track in college also, but if he hadn't he probably would have been a first round pick. Thank God he did though! Go Chiefs!

Re: Teddy Lampkin (Track)
I am not a track guy. Lampkin is fast for Nebraska but how do his times compare nationally? I am not being negative, I really would like to know.

As for a slot receiver dependent on speed/quickness and not size? I don't think it's a big deal.

Still pretty fast but not elite. Denard Robinson ran, I believe a 10.42 last year. Of course, that's with collegiate training.
