Texas ticket
Hey guys, I've been thinking about making a trip to Ames this fall to catch a game on Iowa's bye week. I just took a peek at the schedule, and ISU plays Texas at that weekend. So, I'd definitely like to get to that game and hopefully watch an upset! But what kind of prices would I be looking at if I try to buy my ticket off of someone else instead of through the ticket office? Appreciate any input, thanks guys!

I'll sell you mine for a cool $400. Nah..you seem nice. $375 Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: Texas ticket
Honestly it depends on where you want to sit and how many people you have with you (obviously). Last season, I had a couple of weddings and had to miss games, so I ended up buying tickets off people in the tailgating lots. Paid no more than 20 a game, and was in a decent seat each time and the one time it wasn't a decent seat (hillside) I went to the student section with a few friends who were still students.
Price will also depend on if you happen to be wearing a Hawkeye shirt too

Re: Texas ticket
Single game tickets go on sale in August sometime, go to Cyclones.com for the info. Just don't be that guy that wears herky gear to the game. That is all.

Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:

Re: Texas ticket
Weather is always a factor and if you wait tell kick-off you can get them quite a bit cheaper. This should be a pretty big game so $50 is prob where they will end up on average. I think ticket office is going to be $90.

They won't sell any tickets outside of season tickets in that case. Conference games are generally $60 and they struggle to sell those. Against Iowa you can get away with $90. Texas? I doubt it.

Re: Texas ticket
It doesn't make a huge difference to me where I sit. I've got quite a few friends at ISU, so I figured I'd probably end up in the student section anyway. Do they check for student ID's to get into the student section? Iowa used to do that before they switched to checking for ID at the gates.

My advice? Buy a hillside ticket, walk into student section.

Re: Texas ticket
A third vote for the "buy a hillside and walk into the student section" option. They won't stop selling hillsides, period, so there will be no worry about getting one.

I heard they were doing student tickets differently, not sure when it was to start but the ticket was going to be on the student ID and they scan at the door. So the hillside might be your best option to avoid that if that is the case. Usually can find those at the games cheap before kickoff, depending on the game.
Upper deck they hardly check for anything student related, you get into the lower section and they get more picky (been a couple years). Easy ways around it all if you want in (have your friends on in first, then have one bring someone's ticket out to you to get in).
