ISU holds a special place with most Husker fans because we saw ISU as one of NU's baby brothers. Like all little brothers ISU was a real pain in the butt sometimes. However mostly pretty good guys.
I always rooted for you guys except when you played NU and that won't change going forward. Unfortunately NU wasn't strong enough to take care of you guys a little better, make sure you guys get to schedule the Texas teams to visit Ames in November a few times. Let them experience playing in JackTrice in windy November. It's quite the battle.
Gonna miss you Clones. It is too bad that Nebraska did not stay.
They were no longer good enough to beat Oklahoma or Texas,
and were likely going to consistently be the 4th or 5th best team in the league.
The could not accept they were a lower 2nd tier team in the league and no longer had any control compared to Texas.
Anyway,
I am sure they will continue to pay for 3 or 4 wins every year by playing the easiest non conference ever. Then they think they are so good when they defeat the Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois or Purdue's of the world.
Know that Nebraska fans were the most obnoisous fans and will be hated for many
years to come. You will be welcome back if you decide you don't like being the
second rate team you are in the Big 10.

Re: Later Little Brothers
One would think that you guys would be gracious in saying goodbye to a school that took you into the first super conference back in 1994, nope, apparently not ISU. Must be a lot of young ins that post on this board, the entitled generation cyclone.
Remember Nebraska mandated that the ENTIRE Big 8 come along with NU + CU the first time around when Texas cut all those SWC schools to form the Big 12. Easily NU could have and probably should have stated well Texas cut those schools for TV purposes the Big 8 needs to cut KSU, Okie Lite and ISU as well and go and get Utah, New Mexico and somebody else. Nope, Osborne wanted the entire gang to come along and had the power to pull it off. Looking back on it, we shoulda bailed to the Big 10 back in 1994.
Husker fans won't forget this. NU took you with them the first time and stuck up for ISU all these years, not anymore you ungrateful clones. Maybe this is why Iowa didn't lobby for you guys to be added to the Big 10, ungrateful, not appreciative, Iowa State University.

Basic grooming techniques like bushing your teeth. . . not so much.

And the backhanded insults keep coming! I was giving you the benefit of the doubt on the "little brother" thing but dude you just go on and shoot yourself in the foot again!!
You may think that you are saying something nice but in reality you sound like a super huge *****. I honestly hope that you will continue to look at ISU fans as a group of people who for the most part were hospitable and sportsmanlike, just like I will remember NU fans as people who always treated me with the utmost respect before, during and after athletic events. But when provoked and grouped together under your small minded insults even the most level headed of people will see fit to tell you to take a walk.
Good luck in the Big 10 but try not to walk in with that attitude.

You stuck up for us? Are you kidding. You bailed on the conference because you could no longer win. Sure, it may not have been about winning but it was then about money and in this conference winning=money. You can blame your own school for screwing you into not getting more money in the Big 12. Remember when there was a vote for equal sharing? Yeah, you guys determined there wouldn't be any. Of course, that's when you were actually winning something and were coming out ahead. As soon as that changed, you bolted. DO you think it's going to be easier in the Big Ten? It won't be. Sure, you'll make more money but now you get to play Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa each and every year along with a team that has had more recent success than you in MSU. Think about that. You guys could lose 4 games in just your division next year and I hope you do. I hope Nebraska fades of into obscurity. I don't really think you know exactly how close you are to that right now. 10 years since you have won anything and now you are going to have a much tougher road to a conference championship than you did before. Have fun.
(In my Husker experiences, it has been the ones in Iowa that are the worst. The ones in Nebraska don't seem to be quite so bad.

Re: Later Little Brothers
The only reason I'm sad to see NU go, is because since 2002, it's become a very winnable game for us. I also love the revisionist history of how Nebraska took everyone with them to the new Super Conference. The conference wasn't going anywhere we were adding teams. Plus I want to give a big shout out to NU who voted against revenue sharing every year. Only to bail for a conference built on that exact principle. I have numerous friends and family who are Husker fans. All I heard during this whole thing was, "Texas money this, Texas money that, and how they have too much power in the conference." Well, it would have been simple to truly stand up for the little guys and vote with us on revenue and the Big XII channel. Instead, your program lost most of it's luster and you are off to see if you can be the big fish in a different pond. Good Luck.

Then you cried about it and blamed Texas. Fact is everything that kept the Big 12 unstable was supported by nebraska and nebraska was a big reason it was unstable. nebraska is THE REASON for instability last year. No one else.
Unlike a lot on this board, I actually like nebraska fans. They are generally nice, somewhat humble and find a way to be complimentary. Like many fantasies that had success int he past, they have a slightly overinflated opinion of their program but for the most part they are realistic. Unfortunately, you "little brother" comment sends the wrong message. Whether that was by design or not, I do not know but you are either ignorant or you meant to insult. Either way, that comment will get you blasted by most opposing fantasies. Now go along your merry way.

They went with Texas on the big issues and against them on little issues that meant nothing.
It is hilarious that nebraska voted down revenue sharing and a network and then jumped for a conference that has both. Then they blame Texas and everyone else because they moved the Championships to Texas for financial reasons.

Don't forget the fact that kNU has absolutely no recruiting connections in Big10 country and will slowly lose connections to Texas. I think they will find it difficult to establish a presence in PA, OH, and NJ. Combine that with the possibility that they could start being a perennial 8-4 team and their talent will nosedive.
