Remember Nebraska mandated that the ENTIRE Big 8 come along with NU + CU the first time around when Texas cut all those SWC schools to form the Big 12. Easily NU could have and probably should have stated well Texas cut those schools for TV purposes the Big 8 needs to cut KSU, Okie Lite and ISU as well and go and get Utah, New Mexico and somebody else. Nope, Osborne wanted the entire gang to come along and had the power to pull it off. Looking back on it, we shoulda bailed to the Big 10 back in 1994.
Husker fans won't forget this. NU took you with them the first time and stuck up for ISU all these years, not anymore you ungrateful clones. Maybe this is why Iowa didn't lobby for you guys to be added to the Big 10, ungrateful, not appreciative, Iowa State University. I think that you are way off base here. I have never seen anywhere that stated ISU/KSU/OSU being mentioned as left out of the Big 12. What I HAVE seen is that the conference only wanted UT and ATM, but Texas politics forced TT and Baylor to be added as well. Utah and New Mexico? Those two schools were miles behind the Big 8 at that time (NM still is) and would have gained them nothing.
Tell me again what husker fans "won't forget". Some message board posters telling a husker fan that called us "little brother" to take a hike? ISU owes Nebraska nothing. Nebraska caused the conference upheaval that almost killed ISU athletics last summer. And, they continually voted for unequal revenue sharing while in the Big 12...something that would have solidified the conference. Especially the North schools. Funny, if Nebraska would have been willing to give up that extra $1M a year for equal revenue, they would have likely found more allies in the areas that were important to them (such as title game location).

Re: Later Little Brothers
Living in Omaha, most Nebraska fans genuinely don't know when they are being condescending dicks. They honestly think they are being sweet when all they are doing is ******* you off. It is something you just get used to here.

I think they already see this coming. Hence the jump to the Big 10. Knowing their revenue will dwindle and have already shot themselves in the foot in the Big XII for sharing, what better place to go than the Big 10?

Re: Later Little Brothers
You've gotta love Husker fan referring to ISU as Little Brother. Those Cyclone are so cute, and cuddly. Oh until they reach up, and knock you in the mouth. Then we're the worst fans in the world, and I'm so sick of hearing about the 8 turnovers in the game 2 yrs ago. Huskers got beat plain, and simple. Take your comments somewhere else. Nebby bailed on the Big 12 plain and simple. Sorry the competition was a little too stiff for you. The attitude around Iowa State Football has changed, we'll be just fine. Enjoy the days of mediocrity to come in the Big 10

Re: Later Little Brothers
Remember when you ******** huskers continually voted against revenue sharing in the big 12 and then complained that Texas has all the money and then ran off to the big 10 like a bunch of pansies? GOOD RIDDANCE, pray you and your down syndrome redneck coach lose EVERY game all year long. enjoy getting spanked little sister.

Suddenly?
Records over the last 9 years (pre-conference championships and bowl games):
2010: 10-2
2009: 9-3
2008: 8-4
2007: 5-7
2006: 9-3
2005: 7-4
2004: 5-6
2003: 9-3
2002: 7-6
Total: 69-38
Average: 7.6-4.2
Considering their average record over the last 9 years, an 8-4 record would actually be an IMPROVEMENT...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

Good stats!
Maybe I should restate it as being 8-4 at best!

Re: Later Little Brothers
I've found Nebraska fans outside of the Omaha/Lincoln area to be fairly decent people. Not sure how you could possibly imagine coming on another school's message board calling them little brothers would win you friends.

Re: Later Little Brothers
why didn't you just walk away? instead, you stir the pot.
honestly, i felt bad for you. i think you felt like you were doing the right thing by coming in here and bidding us a fond farewell. but what did you honestly think was going to happen? especially after calling us 'little brother'? i mean, come on, you can't possibly be that thick headed. you can't come on here and think that it's going to be all lovey dovey, especially after how some of your fans have treated us over the years. this is an IOWA STATE MESSAGE BOARD. let me repeat that: THIS IS AN IOWA STATE MESSAGE BOARD. take your condescending 'good will' comments elsewhere.

Re: Later Little Brothers
i do not hate Nebraska, and wont take offense. And for every one video of ISU beating you in Lincoln, im sure you have 70 of you kicking our butt... so, truth hurts i guess. Still you cant expect ISU fans to roll over and just take the condacending (sp)?remarks lightly.
I will be cheering for you to kick Iowas butt every Friday after Thanksgiving.
