Not exactly chip shots.

Not exactly chip shots. Well excuse me for not exactly remembering the lengths of the kicks. He is still a very streaky kicker nonetheless, unless you can somehow debate that.

Thats the stuff a Junior kicker shouldn't be doing. Wish him the best of luck this year, but count me as one who believes he will still be hot and cold with his kicks.
Don't forget we had a new deep snapper and a new holder last year. It makes a difference. He was solid his freshman and sophomore years (with a few wobbles), but his poor showing last year was unexpected, at least to me.

I disagree with his being streaky. He has a great leg and there are variables every kick that may or may not be in his control...the snap, the hold, the wind. All of these are made even more volatile with kicks of length.
I think he is a very good kicker compared to those we had in the past, with Shaggy we didn't even try outside 45 and usually not much over 40 and he still didn't have a great percentage. Loved him because he was the best we had.
I don't see what ripping on a kid who is on our team will accomplish?

Re: Starter announced at Tailgate Tour
This was obviously suppose to be a joke related to the QB situation, but I was waiting for some boos after the season he had last year.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -
Re: Starter announced at Tailgate Tour
He actually started the year out really well. CW had him as the special teams MVP or something about 4 or 5 games in. He fell apart towards the end of the season when he was forced to take all of those long kicks. The weather also wasn't great which isn't an excuse. I actually think one of the big reasons, other than the length of kicks, he struggled was because he wasn't a great bad weather kicker. He needs to improve in that and also he needs to become close to automatic from inside 40 as a senior. Hopefully the offense gives can get it closer for him this year unlike last year.

Re: Starter announced at Tailgate Tour
How many times did we pass up an attempt and go for it because of the struggles?

Wrong, He was 13 for 20 sophomore year and 17 for 25 his freshman year.... Wouldnt consider that solid?
