ISU Ranked on Worst FBS Uni's

After 13 years, people got tired of having to explain the damn thing.

How could you ever get tired of explaining who ISU is? I don't understand this thinking. Educate, man. You mean you don't have to tell people what the "I" in I-state means? I sure as hell do. I have people yell "Go Sycamores" at me all the time.

I don't actually have to explain I-State.

Trying to explain a combination bird and tornado got tiresome and annoying. Plus, there were so many different versions of it. Hell, there were two different PRIMARY logos in that set, and which one you used was dictated by the location of the consumer. How insane is THAT?





Michigan State and Syracuse both use a block capital S. How often do you think they have to explain what school they're representing?

Same for the schools that use a capital M in some fashion -- Missouri, Michigan, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

ISU is an easy target in most Bottom 10 lists for football, regardless of what the category is. We historically have been "Mr. Irrelevant" along with a couple of other BCS programs.

San Francisco 49er-look is the best in football....and we should/could have it. Cardinal and Gold. To hell with Iowa State marketing and the whole bumbling staff who have screwed this up for the last decade when we had opportune times to switch to the 49er look.

Not sure we need to copy the 49ers but I wish that when the change was made a couple of years ago they would have converted to the gold shade that is on Tornado Man's avatar helmet. But I do really like the new I-State logo and the new cardinal shade which was long long overdue.

That list of worst FBS unis is basically a list of 10 FB programs who have had a lack of sustained success over the past 10-20 years. That obviously factored in the list. And the USC copycat claims are completely bogus when the numbskulls who claim that don't have a clue about our road unis with the cardinal pants. Now I do agree that red-on-red tomato can unis from the Danny Mac era were terrible, combine that with a helmet logo that could not be deciphered from a distance, those unis did deserve to be on any Top 10 worst list.

ISU's new FB unis are great, just ask the guys who run the Uni Watch blog. ISU's unis were consistently in Uni Watch's weekly top 5 uniform match-ups of the week. The ISU-Nebraska game was rated the 5th best for the entire season:

That article is trash. Our unis right now are awesome, and I hope we stick with them for years.

UniWatch has been cool with our new uniforms....I'll stick with their fashion sense.
They at least know what they are talking about.

Our Uniforms are hideus and they need to be changed. The coolest uni's i can think of were the all red and white uni's in 2005 by far.

Does everyone remember that we were able to vote for three new uniforms after the Mac era?

I voted for the throwback design. I think it was a gold helmet.

My preferred uniform was not the winner. With the Nike association, the winner may have been picked pre-selected.

Somewhere during that time, a website was found and posted on Gocyclones.com that showed all of the ISU football uniforms back to the 40s, 50s and 60s. Cardinal colors varied. The gold color varied greatly, from Yellow to Old Gold.

With each new coach came new colors, logos and uniforms. We aren't like Penn State, NE and others.
