I think an early commit from a kid that has never set foot on campus is a sign that the kid wanted to secure a place to play but is far from done in the recruiting game. His commitment may be sincere and he may end up a Cyclone but it isn't uncommon for kids that have committed without seeing campus to change their minds. Just ask Kyle Boyd.
Consider me one to view this as a soft commit until he actually visits ISU.
I hate to say it but I'm with you on this. I'm not saying he won't be a Clone, odds are he will but let's take a gander at the exceptions from this staffs classes:
Cqulin Hubert- Texas LBer who committed to ISU only to leave for TT on signing day.
Kyle Boyd-Texas LBer who committed to ISU only to leave for Baylor prior to signing day.
Both Texas guys leaving for Texas schools. It's different down there. There is a lot of state loyalty. Something could happen. This staff has been challenged before, though, and has been able to hang on to a lot of good players so I have faith that they can do it here.
Agreed, someone really needs to ask how solid he is, but we're in the best postition to be in. I'd rather have a soft commit than no commit.
Agree and I never fault kids for doig this either. Schools will pull offers as soon as they are full at a position or fill the class. I commpletely understand kids that commit but still look around.

He was offered and two weeks later accepted. I am sorry but that is not a lot of time to build a relationship with the coaches. Throw in the fact that he has never set foot on campus and it seems you have a kid that committed to his first BCS offer bt will be keeping an eye open elsewhere.
Now, I could be completely wrong and he could be solid. Nor do I ever fault kids for securing a place to play while stil looking around.
