Should we drop Iowa?

Hey, sitting in the basement in my PJ's all day is a good gig.

As it relates to Iowa, the nine-game schedule has a lot to do with the Iowa-ISU game...same for ISU, which is why they asked the B12 to help give them flexibility to have their four-game home/five game road year be one where they host Iowa. Iowa will ask the Big Ten for the same...if they can get it, the series goes on.

I don't deny any of that, I for one would like to see the game every other year or so. But I cant get past your overall thoughts on the series from past statements. So I really believe you would like the series dropped because supposedly some birdy told you Iowa has nothing to gain from the series and so on...

How would playing every other year work? The game would have to be at the same location every game played and that would not work at all. Its either the game is played every year or not at all.

I dont know how you can be an Iowa State fan and not want to play Iowa every year. It'll be a shame if this game is dropped.

Off the top of my head I think it's because I'm an ISU fan and I don't give a **** about Iowa. But hey, that's just me.

So games like Kansas and Baylor are a bigger priority to you ? And the "conference games matter more for bowl games" excuse is void, our last bowl game proved conference standing and head to head matchups aren't the end all in bowl game selection. Getting eligible is the only thing that matters. Rivalries are the best part of college football, why drop that game?

I really don't get this attitude. Iowa is our biggest rival. I can't imagine a Michigan fan saying "Sure, drop the OSU game, we want to get to six wins."

No birdies.

From my own perspective, Iowa has little to gain from this series. If they win they are supposed to win. If they lose, it gains far more attention from national guys than when they win, as in 'what's wrong'.

The risk doesn't seem worth the reward of winning at the water cooler.

That being said, it's the one game every year, or rather the one consistent opponent every year, that gets my in knots...due to where I live and the possible fallout from an Iowa loss ;)

I'm interested in winning a conference championship and Iowa can't give me that. KU and Baylor can.

Iowa isn't my superbowl. I don't care about Iowa athletics and furthermore I'd prefer not to associate with their fans. Like I said, it's just me.

I disagree. The difference is, Iowa fans wanted to drop the series because of arrogance. They were too good for it.

Now it centers around both schools facing a nine game conference schedule. Circumstances have changed. It is not the same situation.

******bags like this this are the reason I don't like the ISU/UI game. No "national guys" are saying this. ISU beating Iowa isn't a shock, it's an in-state rivalry game. Are these really the dip****s you want to associate with on game day?

I do not understand your logic. Why would playing the game every other year mean it would have to be played at the same place all the time? Why could they not rotate sites just like they do now but play every other year instead of every year?

The more I think about it the more I'd like to consider rotating Iowa and UNI on the schedule.
