That's a big loss, IMO. I think he would have seen the field quite a bit this year. I hope it's not true he was unhappy with his position on the depth chart. These young guys need to learn to wait their turn.

Yeah, that doesn't make a lot of sense. If you are a FR coming off a RS year, and the team returns the entire two-deep, how can you be upset at being second team? He would have seen plenty of time this fall and probably started as a Soph. Too bad.

IMO the last chance of Jevohn Miller redshirting just went out the window.

He almost certainly would have gotten two whole years as a starter, if not more. Not to mention that he would have gotten plenty of playing time this year.

Take this for what it's worth...recruiting is a mothersucker. The kid has two cousins playing in the NFL so, there is no telling what he/they were told during the recruiting process. They may have been promised that he would play as a freshman and maybe start as a sophomore. Redshirt was probably never mentioned....but who knows. But just like Capello, it doesn't matter why a kid decides to leave. Let's just assume it was in his best interest and wish him well. The Cyclones show must/will go on

Or maybe he was jumped by other players, got frustrated, and his work ethic wasnt there to retain his spot. Oh and add a little impatience. He was a redshirt freshman...

Damn, that hurts an already thin linebacking corps. Was really excited to see what he could do in a few years. He came in as a DB, maybe he wasn't happy with the switch to LB?

Im guessing the other guys second and third on the depth chart for linebackers are not too upset, George, Mattison, Miller and MOrton can all expect more opportunity to see the field.

move just never made a lot of sense to me. Not saying it was the wrong move but leaving a position that the depth chart was wide open to a spot that he had no shot to start at seemed strange. Seemed like it could of been done in the fall after he competed for it this spring if he was a player. I trust the coaches and assume they knew it was better for him and guessing he didn't want to wait two years to be a starter.
    Let Me Mayor Coach!
