Can't someone write a macro that responds to these threads? It's literally the same people with the same information each time it happens...

That's kinda like wishing that people would use the search feature - we all know it's just not going to happen.

Lets just make sure they will look good empty on TV during those November dates.

I want to see the football program develop the demand for more seats rather than taking the "Field of Dreams" approach. For now I love the fact that JP is making first class the parts of the facilities that the players/coaches use every day. That brings better players/coaches which produce better teams and so it goes.

    Re: Stadium Expansion!

I just talked to CPR and JP; They said that we have to get to 1000 threads about the expansion on CF before they will start seriously considering making it a priority. I beleive we're still 68 threads away, but they're pretty confident that we can get there in the next year of so.

I'm pretty sure we hit 1,000 in 2008, are you sure they didn't say 10,000?

We got two major football improvement projects announced and breaking ground within the last few months. What the hell else do you want?

    Re: Stadium Expansion!

Well for one, we have priorities. Priority one was to uprgrade the stadium in terms of the new videoboard and sound system that is currently being upgraded. Step 2 is the football only facility that was just approved that will be built over the next year. Priority three I suspect is the south endzone which I predict will go to the board of regents either next summer of the summer after that.

We have priorities and that just isn't top priority right now. (although I would love if it was!)

I believe the potential lead donor is attempting to sell his chemical company. When/if that is completed, the South End Zone project will be expedited.

The next big football project will probably be the south endzone. However, if I remember, when the fracilties master plan came out in 2006, there were plans to renovate Hilton, to add boxes as well as widen the concourse. Is this still in the plans? I guess, what I am asking is what are the athletics departments priorties? Is the new track and soccer field still in the works?

The new sports complex has been approved by the regents. Not exactly sure when they are starting construction, but it should be done by next year if I remember correctly.

This isn't about that. This about recruiting first and foremost, at least early on. Other Big 12 schools have or are expanding their stadiums. For example Texas Tech and Okie State. Neither school sells out. But, when recruits visit in the summer or in December when there is not a game, all they see is the stadium and how cool or impressive it is. Not saying it is right, but in the real world recruits like to visit and appreciated cool stadiums. Jack Trice with a bowled in south endzone is more impressive than not. This isn't about having seat sales before doing an addition, it is about doing an addition so you can recruit and win to give yourself a chance to get extra seats filled later on.

    Re: Stadium Expansion!

With all this talk of bowling in the south endzone I had to send JP an email to see what the current progress is. He responded and said we will be bowling in the endzone before you know it. In fact, he sent some rendering for me to share. Enjoy!

    Thanks, 00clone for the inspiration
