What would the 2011 qb depth chart look like if AA was still here?
I believe AA would be the #1 qb at the beginning of the 2011 season due to experience but based on what we know does anyone think he would be passed on the depth chart by the end of the 2011 season by Tiller or Jantz? Interesting question brought up last night and wondered what everyone thought. Overall the talent level is higher this year than last, imo, with Barnett and Jantz thrown in the mix. I believe this improves all the qbs with the added competition. I want to say AA would still be QB but I think JT or Jantz would pass AA by end of this season.

IMO, If AA had another year there would be no need to bring in Jantz. I truly believe if JB doesn't have the injury last fall, Jantz would not be here. Tiller RsJr and Barnett RsFr would provide good depth. Also, with SR as a true freshman, who would definitely redshirt, depth would be fine. Plus, we have Rohach in the 2012 class. As far as 2011 fall depth:
AA, Barnett, Tiller, Sam.

I actually agree with the bolded. Not sure CPR would have brought in a JC if AA had another year.
BTW there is no way that Tiller would have surpased AA. There was a CLEAR difference between AA and JT on the field.

I think an interesting question is what will Tiller do if Jantz gets the job? Will he stick around and be the backup, will he transfer, or will he try and switch positions?

AA would start, life would move on.

I dont think there is any logical reason for Tiller to transfer unless he drops to a lower level where he wouldnt sit out a year.
I havent given up on him winning the job yet either. I just dont know if SJ can pick up the playbook that quickly or if JB is quite ready.

Nah, the Iowa fans would pick those up in a heartbeat “It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. In that scenario, the only way anybody else starts a game or even plays in a game besides Arnaud would be if Arnaud was injured or if it was a blowout one way or another.

Yeah, the only way he would transfer is if he gauranteed to be a starter but for someone who has been a backup his whole time I can see how that would be appealing.
I hope that SJ can learn the system pretty well over the summer so once fall comes around him and Tiller are on at least on a somewhat even playing field when it comes to knowledge of the playbook.

Uhh... it would be AA then Tiller just like last year... Jantz would be starting for another school.

Re: What would the 2011 qb depth chart look like if AA was still here?
Even if Jantz were to hypothetically be here, AA would still be the starter because he has been the starter.
