Not sure how it hurts his chances. Public intox happens and it pales in comparison to some of the rap sheets of NFL players.

I think it's a joke that you can get arrested for being drunk in a bar. He didn't break anything or fight anyone. He was just doing what everyone does when they go to bars...drink!
Public intox is a horrible law.
We should get rid of it, and if someone is being an *** hole while they are drunk and causing trouble, arrest them for disturbing the peace.
It shouldn't be a crime to merely be intoxicated.

He would have got the public intox. when he was outside the bar. When he refused to get in the taxi is when the ticket was punched. Sounds like they were going to write him for that or trespassing for being in the bar after hours.
