Pro Prospects of ISU
Outside of Kelechi Osemele, who does everyone think are the potential pro prospects on this years team?

Knott is a lock at this point.
LJ and Benton have a shot.

Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
I actually think we have a lot of guys who could make it.
Knott, Klein, L. Johnson all are very distinct possibilities.
I think Rump and Mcdonough could perhaps squeeze in with a good year in Rumps case and two years in Jakes. I actually think Rump is the most underrated player on this team. Last year, he was constantly the focus so hopefully we can add a guy or two to allow him to make more plays.

Oh I forgot about Benton. He definitely has a shot as well.

My vote is on Rump. Money may surprise.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
Lattimer, maybe? He needs to be a presence all year long and stay out of trouble, though. I'm not counting him out, but he's not there yet, either.

I just don't know where he plays. He has the size of a 3-4 LBer which would be fine rushing the passer, but I don't think he has the speed to do well enough in the rest of the game. I would love to be proven wrong though.

Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
I think ISU fans get a little too wrapped up in these types of discussions. I remember people talking about Blythe possibly leaving after his junior year and how Sims, Franklin, LaMaak, and Robinson were locks to get drafted last year. NFL scouts don't/won't come to Ames until we put together a good program and aside from Duke and Vandy, I'd say we are traditionally the worst BCS program of the past 25 years. Having ranted for a minute, I think Osemele is the only player that will get drafted on this years team. Corners like LJ are plentiful and I'm not even convinced he would start on an SEC team

IMO, I still think Franklin should have been drafted.

Scouts find the talent from less successful programs especially when they are in a BCS conference.

Franklin not being drafted still is puzzling.

Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
If KO performs at a high level and garners 1st or 2nd round grades, then it will open the door more for other ISU prospects...the key maybe for KO to draw some serious attention, and then others will get noticed.
I remember Perrault said he talked to nfl scouts at the Iowa/Penn State game and he said they unanimously said Franklin was the 1 clone everyone talked about. Either he was full of crap, or he was full of crap. or possibly he was full of crap.

Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
KO and Knott. LJ could be a late round prospect. Young players with potential would be Irving and Miller. Someone mentioned Money... I could see him as an UDFA maybe.. being hurt and not playing well last year hurt him.. he would have to set big time records to be a one year wonder and get drafted from ISU. Klein is another guy who could be an UDFA.
Also, like someone said KO having a high grade could help some more of our guys getting noticed. I would say that only will work on the offensive side though, but we do also have Knott who should at least get drafted rounds two to three.

Re: Pro Prospects of ISU
KO is obvious, LJ i think is a middle round pick with a big year, Knott is for sure... Klein and Benton are borderline IMO. we'll have to see! no guys at this moment on offense have shown NFL ability
