I agree on white. White and any dark color looks awesome. I actually think navy blue and white like Utah State looks awesome. I don't agree on gold though but I don't really like gold no matter what it's put with.

I'd say we looked pretty **** good beating Texas last year. I like our uniforms, but I would like to see red on red.

The more I think about it, the more I like the white at home idea.

Nobody else really does it in the Midwest, let alone the Big XII.

The NCAA allows the home team to wear white with the consent of the visiting team. The SEC allows the home team to choose the color regardless of consent, though, which is why LSU always gets to wear white at home.

If we did want to wear white at home, I wonder how many teams would try to screw with us and refuse to wear colors on the road.

Our road unis are seriously some of the best in the game, period.

Our home jerseys are great too, they just look like USC. But so what? When's the last time someone ripped Wisconsin for looking just like Nebraska? We just catch hell for sucking. If ISU was a powerhouse, these writers would fawn over our jerseys.

I'm not sure I like the white-at-home to the extent LSU does it, because then we'd rarely see the traditional home jerseys. (Unless ISU plays at LSU .. or other Big 12 teams start doing it occasionally, which would only happen if it became a copycat situation, which would require a few years of ISU being BCS-level).

On the other hand: I suspect one of the reasons I like LSU's color-scheme and uniform is because the team doesn't wear the purple jerseys very often. It looks good with the white jersey, but looks awesome w/ purple ... but I think that's because when it happens, it makes you take notice. (sort of a Dallas Cowboys effect -- back before half the teams in the league started wearing white at home once in a while).

I don't. Anyone who wants yellow helmets has no clue. LSU gets away with it because they are good. Their yellow helmets are ugly.

Please tell me ISU will never go back to yellow helmets. Teams either go with a white helmet or the dark color for a reason.

I think that maybe be partly a matter of whether a person likes or dislikes yellow/gold. Unless it's an issue of a secondary color other than white.

I suppose if I were to determine ISU's school colors, I might not pick cardinal & gold first. I started following the school's teams (way back when) and accepted the colors -- maybe i liked them better than Iowa's (for example) but that's not why I became a fan.

Obviously white as a secondary is simpler to manage because uniforms traditionally are white-based (road for FB, home for BB).

What if Ohio State (secondary silver) had red helmets and white pants, with silver only as trim? If somebody hates the color combo, maybe that's OK. But school colors are school colors.

I love the fact that Iowa can blatantly copy the Pittsburgh Steelers unis, and when ours look similar to the GREAT University of Southern California's college football has to raise a fuss. It worked for EIU in the 80's, why not work for us in the 10's?

sorry---the biggest buffoonery mistake ISU has made over the decades is TINKERING. It has created confusion and irrelevancy for ISU's image nationally.

Quite the f-ing tinkering and stick with the same logo/uniform. good god people

Agree with this for sure. Changing up the look of the uni's and stadium every time a new football coaching regime has to freaking stop.

Oh, and Baylor's uni's are amongst the ugliest in college football. Not sure what you guys are looking at.
