Covered a lot that has been mentioned in other interviews

-Still deciding on a QB no leader - Barnett most accurate in the spring
-Good stable of running back will meet A-rob's production but will miss his leadership
-Made the fattest line comment again about when he got here - line is being shaped into what he wants like Okie states a few years ago. Wants them to have the ability to get to the second and third levels to make blocks.
-Talked about the NE game last year still thinks about 2 point conversion.

The radio guys love CPR say he is one of the best interviews they do. They make the comment there is no way you can cheer against CPR.

I'm just going to say this out of frustration. What are our local radio guys waiting for? 810 has already done interviews with coaches and Walters. I think this is the second time CPR has been on in the last month.

I am sure they are pacing themselves because once it all starts for real, they will be talking about it all the time. But, I actually started looking for 810 on my hour drive on the off chance they might have a Cyclone on. I can listen to anyone talk about the same old national stuff.

Our local guys are either Hawk fans or they don't care either way. They aren't waiting, they're just ignoring.

Des Moines sports radio right now is without a doubt at it's worst since I've been here. Murph & Andy are the only show worth a damn right now. I could see Murph & Andy doing a Rhoads interview, but that's about it.

Do Miller & Brinson talk about anything but baseball? I don;t listem much becasue every time i do it's baseball. I'm not a baseball fan...especially non-playoff baseball so I don't have an interest.

I honestly don't think it's a hawk fan thing, but I do think they are a little wary of getting to it early and getting burned out talking about the same old stuff. I'm not even saying talk about it all the time. But, have a coach on from time to time. Give us something.

I'd rather listen to a Rebecca Black album than baseball, golf, or horse racing talk.

I guess they talk about horse racing when it's in season. That's something.

Sports radio is horrible right now. I try to listen during drive time and it's just unbearable. Mike and Mike is ok for national stuff, but there is nothing local. They aren't even talking about the Hawkeyes. Every once in a while I will get luck and KXNO will have a spot with CW, but that's it.

Miller and Deace were Big10 schills, but at least they could talk college football.

Anyway, I apologize for derailing the thread. Let's get back to Rhoads saying Barnett is going to start this fall, and is clearly the best quarterback on the team including Sam Richardson.

It really is ridiculous. Football (college and Pro) is the biggest sport in the country. College football is especially huge in Iowa and KXNO has an entire drive time show where neither host cares enough about football to mention it, unless Miller is talking about betting in Vegas... again. That is a serious programming flaw. I realize they had very few options, since I don't think they really want to pay anyone, but they could have at least picked someone with relevant sports interests and catered to their market. It pains me to say that I would prefer listening to a couple Hawk fans on the drive home if it meant that I'd get to hear about college football in general (as long as they didn't trash ISU all the time).

Don't apologize bro. Our local sports radio is absolutely embarassing. We have two local college football teams in BCS conferences and we hear next to nothing about them. No excitement for the season. Nothing.
