    Re: Aaron Horne

I would gladly take that bet that he doesn't average 1 50 yard + catch a game. Thats unheard of. ISU probably didn't have 12 plays over 50 yards last year. I do think he will be close to our best WR this year. At this point I won't care who starts whether its Barnett or Steele. If Tiller starts, our fan base will be freaking out hardcore the weeks leading up to the game. I think Steele gives us more of a big play kind of approach while Barnett can mostly bring a accurate passing game and a little of running to the mix.

Wasn't our longest pass play of the season 49 yards?

Let's get the facts straight. He started QB at one level and one level only. JUCO for one year. Not HS and JUCO. Not JUCO for two years. Not in the two deep at Hawaii. One JUCO season. That is it. I hope he is the second coming of Seneca buts let's stick to the facts.

Personally, I hope more than Horne break the starting line up in the WR corp. As Rhoads has said time and time and time and time and time and time again, we need some big plays from our WR's. They need to take 5 yard plays and get 20, 10 yard plays and get 50, etc. We had a couple games where our WRs made some great plays...Texas, Texas Tech...and we won those games. Then we had other games where our WRs did not make plays or had key drops...Mizzou, KSUIowa.

Thing is we need better play from the QB AND WR corp. They were both inconsistent last year and that is what killed us. When the QB hit the WRs they would drop it or be bumped off their route. When the WR was open, the QB would miss or make the WR adjust. Both were responsible for killing drives.

Yes. Our best weapon was the punt.

I think it says a lot that Horne came in and jumped Lenz. but then again our receiving corps was weak last year. I think CPR sees big play potential in Aaron.
