nice to see george listed as co-starter
with matt t. was hoping he would push for the starting position. nice to see a young LB push for pt over an established senior i would have penciled in as definite starter.

I'm sure that it has absolutely nothing to do with Tau'fo'ou's suspension.

Matt T. has done virtually nothing since he's been here... except get into trouble.
I'm not sure why anyone would think he's all that good? What has he done?
I hope George beats him out actually. George is much more athletic and faster. Plus he's a great kid by all accounts.

george = future captain according to CPR. Only time separates him from a starting spot.

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
MT looks more like a bruising fullback rather than a Linebacker. He's a short stocky kid. I'd much rather have JG back there. Sure he's a bit raw and lacks experience but he's a freak of an athlete.

He's pretty slow.

I'm content with either playing, they would both help in different ways. Matt might be better now, but JG has the higher upside and will more than likely become much better than Matt now by his senior years.

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
Matt is better against the run, but he's pretty bad against the pass. JG has better range. I would rather see George win the starting spot. 1, because he's young and 2, so I can yell Jeremiah!

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
How many of us truly know that George is better than Matt T? How many of us know that he is better in coverage than Matt T? We have our opinions, which may or may not be right, but at this point we haven't seen enough of George to say one way or the other. It's purely a guess

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
Has George put on a lot of muscle in the weight training program? Last year he could hit on special teams, but he was a bit undersized to play every down. I'm interested to see how much he's improved. Must be a lot to be listed co-starter.

Since people have seen videos of these guys. The "experts" have scouting reports. One was a good recruit that was good enough to go D1 after HS. Offers from good colleges. People aren't just throwing **** and seeing what sticks. They are to an extent, but its not nearly as blind as you are making it out to be. You can get a decent idea about who has more athletic ability before they step onto a Big12 field.

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
I think Matt will start the beginning of the season because we will likely play two teams with more of a power attack and I don't know that George can hold up to that. After that, I don't know because I don't know how good either will be in coverage. Matt wasn't stellar but who knows about George.

Re: nice to see george listed as co-starter
It is nice to see him high on the deep chart, don't him and LJ train together. It is always nice to have lower classmen on the deep chart, then they can be a starter for a long time, and not worrying about having to replace them.
