As I'm sure everyone has heard by now, the Browns cut quarterback Jake Delhomme yesterday. Cleveland obviously thinks Colt McCoy is the future of the franchise, however, I feel Seneca has a very good chance of being the starting quarterback in Cleveland this season.

I'm a huge browns fan and I guarantee Seneca will get playing time this season....what he does during that time (and what McCoy doesn't do with his) will determine if he gets the starting job over colt. As for the first game, I'm sure colt will be starting. Also, just curious but does anyone know where Sage Rosenfels is nowadays? I saw A-rob went to the minnesota Viqueens and I was hoping for a double ISU threat but then I found out Sage got traded away at the end of last season.

I think Mccoy will start the season, but if he plays poorly or gets hurt, Seneca will have his opportunity to take the job.
I honestly think Seneca will start the season. He was more reps than McCoy at this level, and i feel like McCoy just isn't ready yet. If Seneca fails and plays crappy, thats when McCoy will come in.
Still breaks my sports heart what happened that last half of '02. That season was a dream season in every way. The first 7 games were just awesome and Seneca had somehow lived up to the enormous expectations we had for him. He was #1 for the Heisman trophy. Our own guy, our very own QB was the leader in the race and was being called the most exciting player in college football. And he was. That just doesn't happen very often here...
And then the wheels came off. Teams figured us out and we got exposed. The talent level collectively just wasn't good enough to hold on and even Seneca couldn't make up the difference. On top of that, it felt like the staff lost part of the team.
O well. Seneca is still the man though. He has proved he belongs in the NFL.
