He didn't have anything really new to say, but I did find one thing he said kind of telling, maybe?

Either Balbinot or Brommelkamp, don't know which one and don't care, but they asked him about Aaron Horne. Rhoads mentioned about how excited he was that we were able to bring the tandem of Horne and Jantz to ISU and how it only helps that these two played together in JUCO.

I know that isn't much, BUT... considering Horne is listed as a #1 WR now on the depth chart, the only way for these two to be a tandem and help each other out on the field would be if Jantz was #1 also, right?

I know... a HUGE reach on my part. Just thought I'd stir up the board a bit!

Heard the same thing thought it was very interesting.

Also, Paul talked about how Steele has all the tools to be a great QB in this league, but that he has to catch up mentally (with the offense) and he said he expects he will... any hinting going on there maybeeeeee????

No, they haven't. All competent people have known there is reason to think he has a good chance to be the starter. They have also left open the possibility to think that Tiller could actually (GASP) improve as well and be the starter. They have also left open the idea of Barnett somehow sneaking into the starting role. Jantz being the starter is not a 100% certainty contrary to what you would like to think.

I've heard from numerous players and members of the strength and conditioning staff that they would be shocked if Jantz wasn't the starter. Tiller may start the first game, but I'm guessing Jantz will be the guy as the season goes along.

One of the receivers said the other day to me that "Steele does everything better than JT outside know the playbook."
