Big East mulls expansion (ESPN.com)
Big East mulls expansion, wants new TV deal - ESPN
Big East adds TCU, its 9th football member and 17th overall in 2012. It would like to add at least one more football member before they renegotiate their TV contracts (both football and basketball, separate contracts) in 2013. They said they want to add a school(s) of value and someone that will also "appease" the basketball schools.

I am guessing UCF. There's been talk before.

Kansas to the Big East
Missouri to the Big 10
Iowa State and Kansas State to Conference USA -
Re: Big East mulls expansion (ESPN.com)
There's been an idea floated that the Big East could try for 12 in order to get a championship game, and play in it NYC.

ESPN needs the B12 to stay together, they don't want to lose 1st tier FB inventory to the SEC/CBS or to the Pac12/Fox. The Big East was negotiating with ESPN but supposedly 4 other networks want to talk with them including NBC. NBC could make things interesting if they want to somehow package ND and the Big East together on NBC and Versus. If ND doesn't work out (likely), they may then approach B12 schools first (ESPN will likely prevent that), maybe BC and then the rumored C-USA targets like UCF. Whatever happens, the FB dollars are going to split up the Big East between the FB schools and BB only schools.

Well I think then they would take KU, KSU, and Mizzou but I don't know that Mizzou would go. I think they think they are above that so then I think we may be the next option. If it's just one though, no one in their right mind will leave the Big 12.

I wonder if in this scenario if KSU could get left out and ISU taken instead. ISU delivers all of Iowa if there is a network similar to the Big 10 where a per subscriber fee is imposed. I know Iowa's population is not huge but a whole state would be a nice part of a conference footprint. K-State would deliver $0 if KU was part of the mix.

Re: Big East mulls expansion (ESPN.com)
Not that I think this will happen...but here is my prediction regarding the Big East talk...KU, KSU and ISU to the Big East, Mizzu will go to the SEC.
My thought is like the above poster...no way does anyone leave the Big12 now not with the $$ that is going to be disbursed. Anyone would be crazy. The radio talking heads need to stop the gloom/doom, the pot stirring needs to stop and calmer head$$ will prevail.

I don't see any way that KU, KSU, ISU, OSU, Baylor or TTech leave unless one or more of these schools are pouched OU/A&M/Mizzou by one of the other major conferences.
No one is going to leave the B12 for the Big East at this point unless they are forced to. Even KU wouldn't have any incentive ($$$) to do so. The football dollars are on totally different planets and that is what rules the roost.
