And they'll easily jump up. If nothing else, the fact that there is no great team in the Big 10 this year opens it up for a game of epic proportions when Iowa and Nebraska play at the end of the year. Over all, I don't think the Big 10 is as tough of a conference as the Big 12 was. And Nebraska was built to compete in the Big 12. Believe me, I hope I'm wrong, I just don't see a team coming out of the 10 that will play for the NC. This actually gives Nebraska a big advantage in not taking losses. Wiscy will eat Nebby's D alive. Nebraska has tailored their D to stop quicker spread offenses. Whole different ball game where they are going.

I do agree that the B10 doesn't have any real standouts this year, but I also don't agree with the press that Nebraska is a standout. They are basing that off of historical Nebraska, not off of the post 2010 season where there was a lot of offensive struggling against mediocre teams. Here is why I think the offenses struggle:
1. Martinez is fast, but part of his success last year in the beginning of the season when nobody knew it. He didn't have that kind of success after midseason when defenses knew what he could do and designed around it.
2. The spread offense may work in the south, but try throwing that brick of a football in the B10 in November. Smash mouth football is B10 football in the later half of the season and Nebby isn't designed for that.
3. Nebby isn't designed to stop smash mouth football. Their linebackers are going to get destroyed as they aren't big enough.
4. Bo isn't a coach who teaches players to be smart. They make mistakes in the big moments of a game. Tom Osborne was a master at that in his day, but Pellini isn't that good of a coach and it will be revealed.
5. Everybody will bring their A game to kick the crap out of the new kid on the block. They will have a way bigger target on their back then ever and that will mean some losses even to teams that may not normally win.
No way they win the B10 and stay in the top 25. Of course, I could be way off and they are better than I think. I live in Omaha, so I have a tendancy to go the opposite way of all the idiots here who think that kNU is going to the National Championship every year.
