Videoboard views from the Student Lots
A few days ago, I stopped at the Student Lots to see what sort of view they would have of the new videoboard. Attached are some photos.
Essentially, you can see the new videoboard from nearly everywhere in the G2 lot (the corner lot) and also from the north end of the G3 lot (the lot south of the corner lot).
These lots usually have a lot of folks who come for the tailgating and never come in for the game. Now they get to watch the game anyway.

Thank you for the pictures. Hopefully they will not be able to see it for long...

Indeed. I think the videoboard may be a good selling point for doing something with south endzone. It would be great to have luxury boxes or just premium seats in the south endzone with a view of the new videoboard. Whatever they do will likely block the short-lived view from the Student Lots.
Re: Videoboard views from the Student Lots
Yes you can see it, but it won't exactly be easy to see. And once you start packing some vehicles in there, it will disrupt the view even more.
Re: Videoboard views from the Student Lots
you people worry about other people too much
Re: Videoboard views from the Student Lots
I would hope students would want to enjoy the game day experience by actually going to the game. Like the above comment, once you get cars, buses and flags flying around people hopefully won't see it as good.

Dont you dare tell me what I can do with the ticket I paid for.
Re: Videoboard views from the Student Lots
The Video Board isn't going to sway people (especially students) into not buying tickets because they can see it from the tailgating lots.
Re: Videoboard views from the Student Lots
plus the students will be siting closer to the board than any other section in the stadium. It will look even bigger once they are inside ;)

Exactly. And if that's good enough for you as a "fan", then you're not much of a football fan in the first place. That view cannot be compared to actually sitting your *** in the stadium and taking in a football game. In other words, if that's good enough, you weren't going to find your way into the stadium in the first place.

Wow, those are the first pictures that kind of give me a sense of how huge this thing really is. Seeing it in relation to the entire stadium, really makes that thing look huge.

Wait until you approach the stadium from the north and see how huge the new videoboard is (right in front of you) in comparison to the old one (which is at the other end of the field). The old one feels like a postage stamp!

It is hardly the same as being in the stadium. For me, I bought 6 season tickets this year instead of 2 like most years. However, for all those who stay in the student lots anyway, they are going to have a real bonus, that is, if they are sober enough to focus on the screen.
