I see Kevin Lazard has a son that scored two defensive td's for Urbandale tonight from his safety position. Looks pretty big and fast from the highlights. Any Urbandale fans have any more info on him and if he could be a d-1 player?

He was pretty impressive tonight especially for only being a Sophomore, but you have to remember that the competition was Hoover, which isn't much competition at all. He is definitely an athlete, but I'm going to be watching throughout the season to see how he does against teams that can actually throw the ball around.
Thanks for the info. He may be somebody to keep an eye on if he's only a sophomore. Does he play offense too, or strictly safety, and do you know how big he is now?
I think he played some WR tonight, but I can't remember for sure if he had any catches. I'm going to check out the box score when they post it on the Rag tomorrow morning.
The roster has him listed at 6'4" 190 pounds:
Urbandale J-Hawks
Not sure if he's 6'4" but he was definitely taller than most other players out on the field tonight, and I'd buy him being at 190 pounds. He's young enough that he could really be a beast with that frame if he works out hard. It's going to be fun watching him grow for the next couple of years.....if he doesn't get recruited away by other un-named local schools.
He is all of 6'4...and he ended up returning 3 interceptions for TDs. He also returned a punt for 6, but it was called back.
He's a good basketball player and hurdler as well. I believe he was a state champion in the shuttle hurdle relay.
I can't see him getting recruited away from Urbandale. Kevin is an assistant coach for Urbandale...it would have to be a package deal.
Great info on this young man and I'm already excited about him. No reason he should want to leave Urbandale (unless he's Catholic). Urbandale has a nice football program and it's good to hear Kevin is coaching there. Gotta love his son's size for a sophomore and the success he's already had in other sports. Definitely looks like a prospect CPR might want to watch and see how he develops. With that size now, he could get bigger and develop into a prospect at several positions.
Sorry to change the subject, but Iowa State recruit Barkley Hill had a relatively modest game to open the season.....
He played 2 1/2 quarters and his stat line was only 26 carries 214 yards and 6 TD's as top ranked Cedar Falls beat Dubuque Hempstead 49-3.
Allen is a good receiver as well (he was dominant in the freshman games last season). I know he got called up to the varsity squad last year as a freshman and started at safety. He should be a good one.
