While it's not fair to hold our viability in a major conference on just the members of one team, it's unfortunately the way it is. The success or failures of this team in the next few years could well determine not only our ability to stay in a major conference, but the financial ability of our university as well.
I don't ask these men to pull miracles, I just ask them to give 100 percent from whistle to whistle on every snap, because a lot of times hard work and perserverance will overcome unmotivated talent in a matchup.
Hit 'em hard, every yard, Cyclones! You are failing to achieve your objective.
The guys have enough pressure on them. Just let them play ball. I don't think any added pressure will make any positive difference in the W/L column at the end of the season.

Funny thing is these guys don't even care if it falls apart. They are here to use ISU's field as a platform to the NFL and that's it!

We have many alums who have gotten their shot at the show that are clearly Clones for life. How much do you think Seneca asked for to shoot a Cyclone football promo?

I'm talking current players the ones that count today in the landscape of college football, not the ones from yesterday.

Re: I hope these young men realize the weight they carry on their shoulders
If Iowa had 3,000,000 more people, there wouldn't be any question about ISU landing on it's feet.
It's stupid, and really over-dramatic to put this on these kids's shoulder.

WE will not be in the Big East if we continue to have crappy years. As a program, we have nothing to offer. We've got to at least show that we're an "up-and-coming" type of program. WE will be in the Big East in a few years!! -

I agree that it's stupid, but unfortunately, in this re-alignment world, that stupidity is a reality. Originally Posted by Al_4_State If Iowa had 3,000,000 more people, there wouldn't be any question about ISU landing on it's feet.

Plus, all our Olympic sports help are cause as well. I think we forgot that these sports play in to the decision make process of how conference invite schools as well.

Re: I hope these young men realize the weight they carry on their shoulders
I sure hope these young CycloneFanatic posters realize the weight they carry on their shoulders. I don't want to sound like a "world is ending" type of person, but with the ever-changing landscape of college football, the success of our team is even more important.
While it's not fair to hold Iowa State's viability in a major conference on just the fans & donors of one team, it's unfortunately the way it is. The success or failures of this team in the next few years could well be determined not only by our ability to donate to the athletic department, but to show up to the games as well.
I don't ask these us to pull miracles, I just ask us to give what we can to the football program & athletic department, because the only way ISU is going to become more competitive is with increased fan support and donations.
Hit 'em hard, every yard, Cyclones!
