After the game, an ISU fan said "Looks like they have a long drive back to community college."

I said you understand that UNI plays on a lower level than ISU, right? She just looked at me like, huh?
Going off on a bit of a tangent here; silly of the UNI fans to not know the difference, but that's no sillier than ISU fans who continue to insist that UNI is a Division II team. In fact, there was a poster in the post-game thread last night who claimed that very thing. I intended to call him out on it, but my internet failed me for some reason.
UNI is theoretically as far above Division II talent and resource wise as ISU is theoretically ahead of UNI is.

Actually probably more. DII is a big drop off.

In football yes, not nearly as much in basketball. D2 teams beat D1 teams in basketball on a regular basis.
Re: Voices from the Stands - UNI ed.
I heard a guy mention that Iowa State looked like last year's Chicago Bears last night. A QB with a great arm, running for his life, making questionable passing decisions like Cutler. Great defense. Ugly looking game. But, still enough "something" to win the game. He wasn't saying we had pro talent of course, just that the similarities where there, which I agree with.

Regularly? I don't think so. Occasionally, maybe. I know Syracuse lost to a D-2 school in an exhibition recently but if the game "counted" it would never have happened.

I heard someone yell "Put in tiller" in the student section I hate idiots in the student section.
Re: Voices from the Stands - UNI ed.
UNI fans started doing "thats another UNI first down" a tonnnn during that super long 3rd quarter drive, thats expected though and we'll probably be hearing it next week too..
A fan in front of me (a Nebraska fan?) mimicked the siren flawlessly, in fact the first time he did it he kept doing it after the siren went off and I didn't realize the actual siren had stopped for at least a minute, it was F'ing hilarious, that being said he started doing a go big red chant.....

Isn't UNI a D1 school in basketball?

I was on the other side of the stadium watching that and I thought people were chanting "we want blood". Haha. Your story makes a lot more sense otherwise we have our own roman colloseum

I too was sitting in section 17, row 1 actually, and had been wondering what had happened. Sitting that low, by the time we heard the commotion, we couldn't see what was going on as there were a ton of people in the area. I just saw two cops running down from the concourse and two Iowa State Patrol running up the stairs. The Patrol must have jumped up over the fence to get in the stands, as they had been down on the field.

Don't know if he got the shirt though.
Haha, you must be RIGHT by us...that happened 3 ft from us. Or the tshirt gun claimed two victims yesterday. Except he told us the shirt hit him in the head. It was hilarious to watch.
And we got the tshirt.
