Your thoughts on the new video board and sound system
So, for those of us far away, how did the new video board and sound system perform in its debut?

seems like they are still trying to figure out the sound system...sometimes it was so loud it made my head hurt then the next time it would be turned way down

IMO they could have turned the sound down a touch and it would have sounded better. Still... New>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Old

Re: Your thoughts on the new video board and sound system
The new videoboard is 5 times bigger (literally) than what is in the south endzone and the picture is 100 times (literally) better.
I guess I was expecting more than what we got from the sound system, but it is still worlds better than what we had.
I'm holding out hope that there were some kinks with the sound system last night and that it will get better as the season moves on.

The videoboard was incredible. I didn't have any problem with the sound system but it was obvious to me they were toying with some things. It can definitely "kick" if it wants to, that's for sure.

On one song the music was so loud the speakers sounded blown, so if they turn it down a bit. It would be perfect. Video was GREAT too!

I think there were some problems with the sound, but the video was amazing. I am sure they will get the sound worked out.

The PA's voice was piercingly loud at the very beginning of the game. Seems like they were able to muffle it some throughout the game so it was tolerable.
They should have tested John McLaughlin's mic a bit more as it wouldn't work when he tried to do the weather report.
They had the bass cranked up so much that it was just nasty distortion at the beginning of the game when they were playing music. Again, it seemed like they were able to make the adjustments needed to enhance the sound as it was sounding much better at the end of the game.
The HD video is so awesome though. It's crazy to look at the HD board and then look to the south at the old board and see the difference. It's night and day. We're in Section B, so we don't have a great angle to see the new board from, but it's still viewable. I'm curious as to how it will look during a day game on a sunny day, though.

Video was incredible, sound needs tweaked but I am sure they will have that handled.

The video is great, the sound has great volume (it has the ability to be too much), but there are some issues with the sound quality at times.
The PA guy irritated me. Need to shake some of that stuff up. The same low bass pulsing and 'cyclone nation get up on your feet' every 3rd down gets annoying.

Amazing! Oddly enough though, I still found myself looking south to the old board for the score and time. Old habits die hard, I guess.
The actual video board is sweet! After looking at that and then looking at the picture of the old board, its like watching the picture on a foggy screen.

Epic. The sound just needs to be fine tuned and all is well. The sirens and the NWS alert are what ISU has needed for years. I love it.

Was the old board on HD?? Because that is the worst the picture has ever looked. I have to assume they didnt run HD through it last night?? Thank god no sound came out of it though.
