Does anyone know if the non catch that turned into an interception on the goal line was poked out by the defender? No excuse for not hauling it in but more acceptable it it was poked out.

Horne is going to end up being the guy this year, he just looked like he has that big play ability. And, more importantly, the chemistry with Jantz. It's natural to go to what you know best. I think Horne could be the most productive receiver we've had in years.

Re: Depth chart for Iowa game
Washington was awesome in the defensive backfield. I sit in the endzone and really focused on him. He had a great sense of where to be and make tackles, starting with a nice quick stop on the opening kickoff!

Starting vs. Playing
Reynolds struggled on Saturday. Who knows why. Did his play get effected by the personal foul? Was he trying too hard after missing most of last year? Let's give the kid a break. Steels was stinking up the joint for the better part of 50 minutes- good thing the coaches had enough confidence to keep playing him.
The coaching staff knows and will continue to evaluate players in practice to determine who starts against Iowa. Also just because a kid starts doesn't mean he's going to get the most snaps at the position.

Depth charts are meaningless.

While I was disappointed with a few of his drops, I think that Reynolds did as much for us as against us. He was tussling with UNI's #4 all night. And we got a few really big calls against #4. If I'm going to blame Reynolds for what he did wrong, I will also give him lots of credit for getting inside #4's head.

Interception

My seats are right along that goal line. I thought it was a tough catch. Steele threw it hard and a little behind Reynolds. He got his hands on the ball and it bounced up into a UNI defender.

You know, I was so focused on a few things, like how Washington #10 was going to do that I didn't pay much attention to Brackens. Sorry.

Not having looked at film, either, I might also take a wild guess that UNI's defense was paying a little more attention to Money than they were Horne or West. Feel free to tell me if I'm mistaken. You overlook that Steele knows Aaron's moves the best and that Aaron can adjust for bad throws unlike the rest of the receiver corp.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Horne looks like a legitimate deep threat for us, especially because he and Jantz have worked so much together. I'm really excited to see some great plays from the two of them.

Horne is going to end up being the guy this year, he just looked like he has that big play ability. I wondered the same thing. The only conclusion I could come up with was that Rhoads knew that Darks would be out and that Money would be hurt, thus he said that Bundrage and Daniels would be playing. Once the game got underway, he realized the best option would be to let them sit, keep their redshirt status, and win with the receivers we had. It would take alot for Bundrage and Daniels to play in game 1 of their true frosh year, especially with J'Q just becoming a WR.
I would guess that if they didn't get in for the UNI game, then they more than likely will not get in in any game.
The other theory is that they would have played only if we were up by 21 or so. Maybe he had no intention of letting them see the field when we were in such a close game.
One thing is for certain, if all else fails throw it to Lenz.

Good point. I remember seeing him get open deep a few times. Man, that is nice to see. Now, all we have to do is get them the ball.
