Will Rhoads address the lack of discipline on this team today?
I don't want him to dwell on it, but I'd like to hear something today from him regarding our discipline issues lately... both on and off the field.
I can't imagine he's too pleased, but I'd like to hear him address it just a little bit.
It was embarrassing enough that Tiller and Jennert were ineligible, but then to have 3 starters, including one of your captains be suspended for the game, and to top it off all the discipline problems on the field, including another guy getting ejected once again... is just very troublesome to me.
Rhoads always preaches that we do things the right way. So I'd like him to address this.

I agree. Last year we had a lot of in-opportune penalties. That trend doesn't show any signs of slowing. Lack of discipline is definitely part of it.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

The off the field problems are troubling. But on the field, I would actually be dissapointed if we didn't at least have a few aggressive penalties/game. IMO if you don't have at least one of those/game, then you aren't playing aggressive enough.

Especially when we have as little room for error as we do. There is no excuse to get ejected or even get a personal foul after the play is over. None.

Love these, "I am perfect and 18 year old boys in the heat of battle should not show some aggressiveness" comments. Did anyone see the replay? Do we know if it was a punch? Or was it a high shove?
LJ got kick out his freshman year and the things people were saying about him were just absurd! Some just need to relax. Be thankful the team is showing some emotion.

So what I'm drawing from this is that aggressiveness = stupidity?
You can be aggressive without being a *******. Anybody saying otherwise is pretty naive.

Officials sucked........totally. Probably a big source of the on field hostilities. The Personal Fouls were not totally restricted to ISU.

Re: Will Rhoads address the lack of discipline on this team today?
What I am drawing from this is people are over reacting to aggressive penalties. First game of the year and you finally get to hit someone other than your teammate. The whistle is much quicker than it was in camp. Etc.
Does no one think players get disciplined for penalties? Does no one think the players don't get embarrassed in the film room in front of everyone? Do people really think Rhoads doesn't have them running sprints?

I'm not even talking specifically to what happened on Saturday, since I was not able to watch the game. But that is my general view, which happens across all sports. The best teams know how to toe the line when it comes to aggressive play, and, if you cross the line a few times a game and get a penalty so be it.

Aggressive penalties are still absolutely stupid. A false start is one thing. You messed up and it cost you 5 yards. 15 is a bit of a different story, especially when it's easily preventable. Iowa State has zero room for error already, adding a 15 yard penalty to it is a killer.

Not sure which you're referring to, but I watched a one-arm swing and said oh, geez, immediately. This was before the flag was thrown. I expect better, especially later on in the game. Control that fire and use it in the right way.

When UNI has converted on 5 straight 3rd downs and you finally stop them and then you throw a forearm to the head of their player after the play. = DUMB
