Re: Kicking game against UNI?
We got a good one in KVDK. Little worried about field goals yet, but hard to judge after 0 attempts.

What happened to Guyer being the starter? I heard on the radio a couple times that Mahony was kicking.

Re: Kicking game against UNI?
Thought the first extra point was a low kick prone to get blocked. Second one looked much better from Guyer.

Re: Kicking game against UNI?
The punting was nothing short of outstanding. KVK panted 5 times, got 3 within the 20, and still averaged over 50 yards.

Re: Kicking game against UNI?
Mahoney was drilling them from 50-60 in warmps, but he never really kicked from any shorter.

Re: Kicking game against UNI?
Kicking in warmups mean nothing. Most highschool kids can kick 50+ in warmups. No deep snapper, no holder, and no big rushers coming at them. Even if a kicker looks bad, you won't know the real reason until the film and it doesn't always show the snap and hold in a way that you can really critique it.
I really hope ISU has a good kicking year as it could mean a lot for the program.

Papaw He's saying Mahoney was practicing ONLY those distances as a point of emphasis, because that is NOW his role on the team as only a part time kicker. We're not talking about scouting our own kicker here.....lol, we know Mahoney from the last 3 freaking years.

I work with Guyer's dad, so I am honestly pumped about this development. I've never had such an interest in our kicker before.

Haha, Larry is a good dude and I'm glad he's gettin the opportunity to watch his son play college ball. It'll be good to see him at road games this year.

Van Der Kamp should be an All-American by the end of his career. He's got plenty of time to perfect his craft.
