CR Game watch

I have to be in Cedar Rapids for the weekend for work. Is there a game watch in the city I can go too? Not sure if my hotel will have the game on its tv package.

I think The Fieldhouse up on Blairs Ferry Road will have the game on.

But is this a mostly Cyclone bar or should I expect all the bars in CR to be mostly hawks?

Sorry, I couldn't do that to you. The Fieldhouse is 100% Hok.

The Cyclone spot is Third Base Brewery, also on Blairs Ferry Road. (And I promise I'm not bull****ing this time).

I'm sure there will be some Hoks there, but it is the official gamewatch location for the ISU Alumni Association of Linn & Johnson counties.

There is no "mostly" cyclone bars in this town! Everywhere you go, you will be the minority. I will be at mulligans, they have a bloodie mary bar and a bazillion tvs and I know the bar manager.

If you go there, take a head count of hoks and clones. $10 says hoks out number clones. It might be listed as the official clone spot but its not. the owners and managers are hoks.

I watched the ISU-Texas game last year at BWW on Blair's Ferry. Not sure how it will be for the Iowa-Iowa State game, but there were quite a few ISU fans in there for ISU-Texas.

When it's not ISU v UI, its not too bad. It will be Squawk heaven on Saturday. BW's is so outrageous on pricing and such, I avoid it, plus the mrsa outbreak there last year that was kept under wraps keeps me away. Just saying.

The hotel is close to Blairs Ferry Road, so I may just stick with it. I am hoping to be able to see it in my room or the hotel lounge. I am sure wherever I go, I will be the minority in Cardinal and Gold.

You should be able to get it in your room. If not Mulligans isnt too far away from there. If you need somebody to watch it with PM me. Im all for having Clones at my table!

I know for a fact Third Base is owned and operated by huge Cyclone haters. I'll bet you a dollar they are doing stuff to your food and I'm not kidding.

They do have the best beers in town, being a brewery. seriously, good beer.

On the flip side they dont have HD, this is a big pet peeve of mine. Lets buy a whole bunch of nice HD tvs but not have a HD signal!!!!

As some people noted, for any game but ISU/Iowa there would be bars to chose from (I usually watch Cyclone stuff at the BWW in Coralville and they always have it on unless it conflicts with an Iowa game, but I'm staying home for this one), but for this game the Tavern Hawks will be everywhere. 1600 AM will be carrying the game if you don't feel like dealing with bars and your hotel doesn't get FSN North.
