LOL, A&M in a BCS bowl
LOL, A&M in a BCS bowl
Let me say first that I think at this point in the season, we should be looking at ANY bowl invitation as a bonus for our program.
That being said, I'd have an awful hard time leaving Phoenix for a December trip to New York.
Sure at this point, I'll listen to any bowl talk, but I certainly hope as the victories start piling up... our direction begins to rapidly seek out greener pastures.
Keep in mind that this same guy had some pretty abysmal picks in week 2 in the Big 12.

Wow, we're getting pretty ahead of ourselves. I'm as happy as the next guy over our victory this weekend, but this wasn't a premier Iowa team. With Jantz arriving, and this team playing incredibly scrappy for their coach, there is A LOT to be excited about...i agree with that. But we have a brutal schedule.
My goals going into this season:
1. Steal 2 games from teams we "shouldn't" beat on paper. Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, Baylor (they're now in this group...wasn't planning on that), OKSU, Iowa, Mizzou. We got one....I'm asking for one more. If we play inspired football like we did yesterday...we might get that...hell, we might get TWO or THREE if we stay healthy. Texas is under performing, but they're scrappy and will have a chip on their should from last year. Oklahoma is the best team in the country, A&M is a solid team this year, Baylor is total wild card, Mizzou is better than they're playing and if they get their **** together by the time we play them they'll be a hand full.
2. Win all the games that we SHOULD win. UNI obviously, Kansas, K-State, Uconn, and Tech are all winnable games. I'm really hoping for a UConn blow out, but I have a gut feeling they overlooked Vandy in anticipation for us. Could be in a fist fight, but it's winnable. Kansas and K-State are both winnable....we can't take them for granted (you can't take anyone for granted), same with Tech.
3. Show up to every game and don't get blown out. We have some national exposure this year, and need to show up for EVERY game. We can't take a 50-14 drubbing at the hands of anyone. We're a good team and need to earn the countries respect. If we lose, we have to go down swinging.
4. Make a bowl game. Not going to ***** about what Bowl we make...just making a bowl game with this brutal schedule and not getting blown out at all would be a huge win.
Heck yeah NYC....I'll be on the train down there for sure!
Also, we should all be rooting for OU to not lose a game (except to us, of course) so they make the title game, which will give the Big 12 an extra bowl participant, assuming we have enough eligible (which will be difficult with 9 game schedule).
I agree with everything else you said, but to me this statement seems kind of laughable. Although, you may have a point that they were looking ahead to us since it will be a home game at their venue on national television. But there is no way that they are looking past an SEC team, and I don't care that it is Vanderbilt.Quote:

Schablach also has us in NYC.
I'd take NYC. Fun city, and several free places for me to stay.
