Iowa in the Pizza Bowl vs Toledo

Seeing as I just got a $500 voucher from United for offering to take a later flight last friday on a flight that cost me $157.... This might just be in my travel plans!
These bowl projections never consider the politics involved especially in the Big XII where the only requirement is the champion receives the automatic BCS birth.
The fact that there is complaining about us going to a bowl game with one of the toughest schedules in the nation is ridiculous. What cyclone fan wouldn't want to see our squad play in one of the greatest venues in the world in the best city in the world??? Sign me up and go clones!
Any bowl will be great, but I think, hope we can do better!!
So pumped after the Iowa win!!!
But in reality, the Iowa game has no bearing on the season as a whole! Some of those games I was looking at prior to the start of the season and during the week between UNI and Iowa don't look near as daunting after this victory. I certainly believe that this Friday will reveal a whole lot! Not that UCONN is a powerhouse by any means, but they will be playing at home on National TV and are coming off a loss that has probably left a stale taste in their mouth. Ever the opptumist, I believe we win this game. That being said, it will surely test us for many reasons. The lost day of preperation, the long flight, the possibility of a hangover.
The long and the short of it is, we need a win on the road to go to 3-0...I'd much rather come off a win and have an unblemished record when we host Texas on Oct. 1st than be 2-1 and have not played for over two weeks when the 'Horns come to town.
Like I said, I can find 6 wins on this schedule a whole lot easier after watching the Cyclones of Week 2 than I could after watching the Cyclones of Week 1. But I suppose that is the whole goal! (To improve from week to week.) Texas has signifigant issues on offense , Baylor's D wasn't scary (although RGIII is!), Missouri has shown flaws....My point is, sitting here looking at this schedule is a lot less overwhelming after this great win. Our offense looked amazing at times and the defense made plays when it had to. But go to Conn. on Friday and leave the Cyclones of Week 2 in Ames and bring the Cyclones of Week 1, we'll likely lose. Then this schedule will start looking like a court summons again and I will go back to breaking out into cold sweats while reading it!
Why should we settle for 6 wins anyhow, 6 would be great but 7 or 8 would be awesome! It's going to happen too, if not 2011 sooner rather than later. I believe Coach Rhoads is that guy! Such a class act! I would rather have him than ANY coach in the Nation...Teams take on the personality of their Head Coach and his Staff and based on what I've seen through 27 games, this staff is one TOUGH group of guys!
Go Clones!
