    Re: UConn -6.5 over ISU

Anyone have a "keys to victory"?

    How about:

Penalties... saturday we had 11 for 84 yards. VS UNI we had 8 for 81. We need to do a better job with those. 5 or less.

Turnovers... simple-- 1 or less. force 3. should be the goal for every game. Our running backs can't fumble the ball. No excuses. Shontrelle has fumbled twice this year now.

3rd down defense. Have to be able to make stops in key situations.

What was the last game we had on ESPN during primetime? Army a few years ago?

If only they'd let him try as many times as it took to make the completion like they probably did for that video..

UCONN has a small def. line. I hope that bodes well for our run game, but Steele may have a little more trouble getting away from DE's that are 230lbs and quicker.

    Re: UConn -6.5 over ISU

I think Cyclone nation should know more than anyone that past QB performance isn't indicative of future results. This UConn team is going to be coming off a close loss and going into a huge game for them that they expected to win two weeks ago. I think we've got the edge if Real Steele shows up like he did all day against Iowa. No reason to expect that he won't, but expect UConn to play better than they did against Vandy too. Love the fact that the stakes keep getting raised every week for ISU this year!!!

    Re: UConn -6.5 over ISU

This spread is a tough one. I agree with previous posts that maybe the odds makers have "figured out" our road woes. There is also the fact that we are coming off an exhausting, big game that may leave a hangover. Also, it is on Friday so there is one less day to prepare...

That being said, I was hoping the spread would be closer to straight up or maybe a few points in their favor.

Lots of money on ISU so far. Within 1.5 hours of the line coming out it went from 6.5 to 5.5 with UCONN favored. Seriously, bet the mortgage. See my latest blog post.

UCONN is now only a 5.5 or 4.5 favorite depending on which line you look at

    Re: UConn -6.5 over ISU

Lines are created to get people interested and having them bet on the game...if it is something ridiculous, nobody will bet on the game.....therefore casinos will make 0 money on it so they set it at what they think will entice/lure them into betting....
