but no, i really don't think that this has any impact on basketball especially if we end up in the Big East, that could potentially help it simply becasue we use the pitch, you could play in the Big East.

It's hurting a bit. It sure as hell isn't making things any easier.

All the stuff might be message board conjecture and stuff on Twitter.....but recruits look at a lot of it.

I don't think it hurts that badly for football. Fact is we really don't recruit against many non-impacted schools. I think it might cause us to miss on a guy or two, but when you generally recruit against mid-majors you still look more enticing for the time being.

On the other hand, if we are in on someone early and they blow up I think we may have an easier time getting poached.

If we can't guarantee anymore games in Oklahoma and Texas....well...it makes it harder... a lot of recruiting in that state, for us anyways, uses the pitch that your kid will be playing in Texas at least twice every year and Oklahoma once a year.

Maybe realignment rumors are hurting, but the quality of recruit you guys have committed at this point is actually a lot higher than it was last year at this time (as judged by the other schools that are offering your commits).

You don't think playing basketball in a conference against KU or Texas has a positive impact on ISU's program? You're a fool if you think a move to the Mountain West wouldn't kill our basketball program...

Good thing we're not in the Mountain West. There is literally a 0% chance we end up in the Mountain West.

I'm an ISU grad, but just realistic. Actually frightening watching how many people on this board are obsessing about this. As if their own self-worth is tied to being in a major athletic conference. The only thing more dim than the outlook of our athletic department, is the future of these fanatics.
