Notre Dame to the ACC?
Just saw on sportscenter that if ND is forced to give up independent status, it will pursue ACC membership. This is great news for ISU.

However, I'm personally at the point where ESPN has no creditability in their reporting. I think people put way too much stock into the crap they are spewing out...

Re: Notre Dame to the ACC?
The only news I want to hear is that OU is staying in the Big 12, and we are adding 3 more teams to get a title game. Louisville, Cincinatti, and TCU. The Big 10 may not expand period, meaning more teams are left out in the cold. And if they only go to 14, KU and Mizzou are higher up than we are. We need the Big 12 to survive, lock in equal revenue, and put in a monster buyout for leaving. In short, stability.

If ND goes to the ACC we might be screwed because it really kills the chances that the B1G pursues further expansion. Our best chance would be Texas going to the Big Ten along with us, Mizzou, and Kansas, where we'd form some sort west division along with Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. That would obviously be pretty sweet, but seems about the least likely outcome at this point.

On a sadder note, they also said Texas and Oklahoma are leaving after the Regents meeting, take it for what its worth

Do any of us really know what will make it the bets for ISU at this point?

This is obvious, but not the point I was getting to. All this crap about thinking this school going here or there, and how it will effect us is impossible to tell. Obviously going to the Big 10 would be best.

this is not a good thing...

Yesterday I would have said you were absolutely right, not so sure now. I don't think anybody real knows how having two super conferences and 2-3 "normal"-sized BCS conferences would really affect things like non-conf. scheduling, TV contracts, bowl tie-ins, etc. If Notre Dame was on the table, I could see the Big Ten matching right away. If they are not on the table, I think they'll sit back and wait.

That means that there are not 4 superconferences, and there is still room for a 5th BCS conference, which ISU would logically be a part of.
the worst case scenario, and the only one where we end up left out, is the 4 16-team conferences with us not included.
