That is awesome. Another sellout means another Top 5 or Top 6 crowd in JTS history. Just crazy that we will average more than 55k halfway into the season which has to be on pace to shatter ISU's football attendance records.
(Who is buying season tickets now that 1/3 of the season, including Iowa and UNI, is gone???)

I won't believe it until there is a thermometer.

I also don't remember 56000 fans coming to watch a 2-9 team play when the jacobson building was completed. Although two instate games don't hurt, if the Texas game sells out would that be a first for a non-instate game or Nebraska?
Two favorite teams, the Cyclones, and whoever is playing the Hawkeyes! -

I wonder what we will draw for next year's opener against Tulsa. It would be nice to trade it for a game with UNI.

Re: IOWA STATE SHATTERS SEASON TICKET RECORD
The renovations help, but who buys season tickets to look at a big TV?
The fact we are winning and playing exciting football is a big reason. We look bad at times turning the ball over, but when we aren't turning the ball over, we are playing really good football. And Jantz is an exciting QB to watch throw the ball to receivers who are finally making some big plays. I've said all along, winning changes the attitude of the fanbase, not the other way around. The fans can only do so much before you need to see results on the field.

I'd say it depends more on how we finish this season than the opponent. If we **** another bowl game down our leg and end up with 4/5 wins for the second year in a row it will be seriously deflating.

Actually the last biggest season ticket sales we had was in 2007. The largest crowed in ISU history showed up to watch a 0-1 (loss to Kent St) play that season. The first game was on a Thursday which prevented many from showing up. That was the season after the west concourse was completed. It was also Chiziks first year, but you wouldn't expect a record crowd to show up to see a team that just lost their first game to a MAC team, would you?
I have no doubt that being 3-0 makes a big difference, but I also think many people who might be on the fence about buying tickets may be swayed by all the changes that have been made to the stadium.
Last year we were 3-1 at home and at the top of the Big 12 North when we played Kansas, crowed was 46,000
