Interesting comments by Neinas on Game Day
Our new interim commisioner said: Big 12 schools to add one team to get back to 10 asap. Nothing new on A&M yet. No expansion as of now. Big 12 Schools not interested in more Texas schools. All the schools are in on the stabilization plans but MU has a unique situation with the curators that oversee the university, thus, an official delay only (so much for the rival's piece promoting continued unrest and throwing Boren under the bus -- pure crap to foster the idea of continued controversy and to promote site hits). Said the 10th team has to make geographic sense.
If this guy can't get us where we need to be, no one can.

If this guy can't get us where we need to be, no one can. Need at least 12 teams in the conference and schools not named Texas to come together and form a network that will be on all sorts of outlets, even in Texas where the LHN is not catching on.
I do not like how this is going.
Without a network and that extra cash for ISU we are going to fall even further behind in the college football arms race.
Paging sugar daddy's, where are you? ISU needs you...

Paging sugar daddy's, where are you? ISU needs you... I think you are expecting way too much given this is a process and Neinas started to lead the reconstruction phase less than 48 hours ago. Get to 10 and establish stability. Then carefully expand if it is the right thing to do. I still think Texas's feet will be held to the fire on the LHN. I don't see how you can already decide you 'do not like how this is going' as it really hasn't even started yet.

When oklahoma is still talking about its own network, id say its fair to say that OU never had any intention of holding Texas's feet to the fire on the LHN.

I was not expecting instant changes, I just do not like how the Big 12 does not even seem to be on the same page and only going to 10 teams. I know the Big 12 is not in a great spot right now but I think the time is right to cherry pick from the Big East rather than be forced to take a couple of teams later.

FIRST, I could easily see OU saying just that as a set up to holding Texas's feet to the fire on the LHN. SECOND, reconstruction is a process, I sure like where we are vs last week when so many said the conference was toast. And last week was better than the week before. I'm going to let them get together around a table in the same room as equals and negotiate before I run off the handle. What 2 desirable schools from the Big East, that are in their right mind, would join the Big XII right now?? The current group are doing the right thing in getting their ducks in a row, looking for what they need to add and then carefully doing just that. They should not hurry up and fail.

Re: Interesting comments by Neinas on Game Day
I'm with you rebecacy. A week ago I figured we might end up in the MWC. This is a LOT better than that for sure.
It will take a little time to sort things out.
Plus, why does it take 12 teams to be stable? Who says 12 is a good number? It sure wasn't a good number for Nebraska and Colorado, was it?

I don't think it's a huge deal, but apparently the media and some people do.
I would MUCH rather have 12 members, speaking from an ISU football perspective. Staying in the 10 team set up we currently have will pretty much guarantee that our chances of a championship will stay near zero. In the old Big 12 set up, we came close to reaching the title game a few times, which would give us a shot at a championship. No way do we ever run the table to get a championship.
Another (more important, IMO) reason to get back to 12 is so we can have 8 conference games and 4 out of conference games again. We need to be able to set up our scheduling to help us get to 6 wins and go bowling more consistently.

Re: Interesting comments by Neinas on Game Day
I don't see how anyone in the Big 12 can be upset with the current direction. Everyone seems to be committed (notably the big boys). Seeking out a replacement for A&M. New commish.
The changes won't happen overnight...

Re: Interesting comments by Neinas on Game Day
I could also see Tx and OU trying to get back to 12 teams. Conference games are not going to end up on private networks. In order for the LHN and OU-yet-to-be-named to get more games/be viable, they NEED more non-conference games.

Paging sugar daddy's, where are you? ISU needs you... What we need is to get you out of these threads on realignment. Do you work for Yahoo?

Pac 10 + Utah + CO = 12
Big 11 + NE =12
Seems like 12 is working out better for both of them then our: 10 - TAM = 9 = Instability for ISU.
No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine. -

Weeden is picking apart the TAMU secondary. The Aggy D is worn down.
