Re: Conference Power Rating
Am I reading that right and they are saying ISU beat the B10's top team? God help the B10 this year if that is true.

ISU beat the B1G team with the toughest schedule to date. I thought Iowa's schedule was cupcake but they apparently have played the toughest schedule in the B1G so far.

Re: Conference Power Rating
It's pretty impressive that the conference has lost a grand total of 2 game out of conference. 1 in OT and the GT vs. Kansas debacle.
I think OU has Ball St and A&M still has Arkansas, but if those go as planned it'll be a pretty good non con for the league.

Re: Conference Power Rating
Here's a neat one: College Football Power Ratings - College FB Non-League Power Rtg Conference Ratings on TeamRankings.com
I assume this is out-of-conference power ranking, showing off our 24-2 record compared to those other conferences. And the overall conference rankings: College Football Conference Power Rankings & Conference Power Ratings on TeamRankings.com
Wow, check out that all-mighty Big 10 conference. -

Hella-early for much significance to power rankings, but I'm not so sure Iowa couldn't run the B1G table. MSU & U-M at home. Hawks don't have to play Wisconsin — which by the way seems like a legit team, but also has played Zero teams of any substance.

Re: Conference Power Rating
How about this gem: 2011 Week 5 College FB Games: Longhorns Cyclones
Wonder how accurate their computer rankings have been thus far?
EDIT: Doesn't appear to have done well for Iowa State thus far, predicted losses for both Iowa and UConn...

Re: Conference Power Rating
The B1G power ranking should actually be lower because they don't include the Minnesota lose to NDSU in their calculations. They only include games between FBS teams.

The second link is SOS rankings. As far as SOS. It wouldn't be outlandish that Iowa has the highest ranked SOS in the B1G joke. The B1G is playing not only cupcakes, but 3000 calorie cupcakes with double fudge frosting. The entire roster of directional michigans were accounted for on the B1G joke schedule this week, and those were the "tough games" on the schedule.
And the B1G is losing a good number of them to boot.
Iowa isn't even close in the actual rankings.

Re: Conference Power Rating
Small sidebar, but how impressive was KSU taking down, Miami. That was a solid win and just kept this all rolling the right way.

Iowa isn't even close in the actual rankings. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that reads things wrong. I didn't say I thought that. I was asking if the website was saying that. A previous poster already pointed out that the best team meant SOS.
But you are right about the B10. OSU looked ordinary in losing to Miami and KSU beats Miami at Miami. KSU was projected to be in the bottom 3 of B12?!

They no doubt had quite the debacle against GT, but they aren't really THAT bad.
They just got steam rolled and gave up.
I'd still put money on them against the worst team in any other conference and in some BCS conferences the bottom 3-5 teams.
