Tailgating at Baylor
Hi guys,
Baylor fan here.
I know it's early, but I've already had 2 Iowa State groups e-mail me, so I figured I'd throw this out there now.
If you are interested in tailgating, I wanted to invite you to come out and join us.
The link here will give you the basic info: http://www.baylorfans.com/forums/showth ... p?t=214740
We usually cook about 200 lbs of meat (brisket, sausage links, hot wings, and smoked turkey) along with ranch beans, potato salad, and all the fixins for everyone to enjoy.
We also provide sodas and bottled waters...adult beverages are byob.
We typically have a thousand or so in our area, so there's plenty to do and enjoy. We have 24 spots that have electrical/cable access so there will be tv's around with games on.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
We have an absolute blast and hope you'll entertain the idea of joining us.

Re: Tailgating at Baylor
Not going the Baylor game but I read that thread and that seems pretty awesome yall do that. I thought no one tailgated at Baylor except the opposing teams fans. Either way home you get to your goal dollar wise so you guys can keep it going!!!

Maybe the Bears have learned how to tailgate? In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

Maybe the Bears have learned how to tailgate? Actually, I've been a Va Tech fan all my life (grew up in Va Beach) and that's where I learned what tailgating is about.
I moved to Waco in 2000, started following Baylor athletics, as well, and noticed the lack of any pre-game atmosphere.
I simply took my Va Tech roots, planted them in Waco, met up with a few initial groups, and off we went...so, yes, things have changed dramatically.
We have a lot of fun and I hope some of you guys can make it out.

Re: Tailgating at Baylor
Who in the hell chooses to move to Waco?

We have a lot of fun and I hope some of you guys can make it out. I was there in '08 and there were more ISU fans tailgating than Baylor fans. No one showed up until about 1 to 1.5 hrs before the game, and the few Baylor fans that were there were less than welcoming/outgoing.
All the Baylor fans that post here say things have changed dramatically in the past 3 years. If BU ever gets an on-campus stadium, I'll probably check it out again.

Re: Tailgating at Baylor
Sounds like you're doing a great job of injecting some real atmosphere there, redfish. Wish I could get down to be there, but thanks for all you're doing and good luck with the rest of the fundraising!

The great thing is, you can just walk up, grab some food, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Even if you are traveling light, you can still enjoy yourself.
For those that are local and plan on bringing a pit, set-up, oversize vehicle, etc....contact me at baylortailgate@yahoo.com and I may have some vouchers available that will waive your parking fees.
Things have changed....a lot.
