Look at most other BCS programs, heck look around the B12. Programs are improving and/or expanding their stadiums without sellouts. Hell, Baylor has a tarp over one of their endzones and can't sellout even when other TX teams come to town; but they are considering building a entirely new stadium. Yet, we have fans that want to debate bowling in JTS's SEZ.
We need to bowl in the South End Zone and start to upgrade our facilities so we can compete better in recruiting. GO Jamie GO
Just keep winning and the rest will follow. I was there last November bitter cold and open seats everywhere, but we need that endzone for alot of reasons mentioned above.
If things continue down the path they are on, the SEZ project will become a reality.
Like I said, I want the south endzone BADLY, but I just think it is a little premature to want it after only 3 big games, at least wait until November to start these demands..
no one likes sitting on a hill in november
I just got my ticket today.. i'll be there.. my voice will be gone by halftime.. but dammit i'll be there... time to show the nation we are for real..
leggo CYCLONE NATION!!!! SHOW UP!!!!
As many of us anticipated, interest and attendance in this program is ready to explode with even a moderate, sustained amount of success. We've seen what a 3-0 start did...imagine if the winning can be sustained through this season and next.
When Rhoads said there'll come a day when you can't get a ticket, I didn't think he meant this year!
I want to turn JT into the house that Rhoads built!!!
The SEZ will get done when the Big 12 stabilizes, gets a new tier 1 deal everyone expects, AND Pollard thinks we can sell the SEZ seats for the same price as all the other seats in the stadium. They will not biuld the SEZ if the seats have to sell at a discount to get filled.
The first sign this is going to get done will be when they raise tickets prices for the current SEZ seats and they still sell out. With the new scoreboard those tickets are worth more than they were last year. Those prices will be going up and they should.
I went to the Oklahoma Missouri game and they charge $77 for every non-student seat in the place.
Better to have some empty seats later, than 1000s of people standing on hillsides, etc. that could be sitting in a bowled SEZ, which could include additional revenue generators like slightly higher SEZ ticket prices, more concessions, a lower priced Club and/or Suite section options, Dan McCarney Grill, etc. Move students to SEZ and get more $$ for sideline seats. Recuiting benefits. Wind. Home field advantage. I could keep going, but continually having to point out the obviously and exhausting...
To hell with November, get a lead donor and get it done!
