Revenge Game? Look back to Nebraska 2010
A lot of pundits are saying that this is a revenge game and that Texas will be more than motivated to pound ISU into the dirt. It makes sense, Texas is not very likely to be looking past ISU like they did last year.
BUT, think about the win in Lincoln in 2009. Nebraska, who was ranked #9 at the time we played them last year, came in with a lot of the same expectations from the "experts". It was a "revenge" game, one that Nebraska was expected to roll in. Granted, it was an OT loss simply because we chose to go for the 2 point conversion in the first OT to seal the deal... but who knew ISU would take a top-10 team down to the wire at home?
It will be the same deal with tomorrow's game. Texas might technically have more talent, and have more "motivation" to win, but we've shown all year we can stay in games, and more importantly, find ways to WIN those games.
So psyched for tomorrow! JT will be rocking!

The Clones could stay in games a lot better if they would stop the stupid penalties and turn the TO thing around. Texas is still going to be the best team ISU has faced this year, so it will take better play to eat them.

Have to take into account that the Clones don't want the Texas game to look like a fluke, were 3-0 and have the opportunity to put a exclamation point to the start of our season as well. We've got a lot going for us coming into this game as well to counter Texas' revenge motive.

The players and coaches at Texas can talk a good game all they want about how ISU is not the ISU of old, they have to be taken seriously, blah, blah, blah....
At the end of the day everyone understands that every single coach on the Texas staff and every single player on that Texas roster thinks that ISU is a pushover and that they can just show up in Ames and beat ISU to a pulp.
They are in for a big surprise on Saturday night. They better have their mouth pieces in because they are about to get punched in the mouth!

Hey, by the way, NU escaped with a win in Ames last year after CPR went for the win and the fake PAT. So it's not like ISU got their heads knocked in for a revenge game.

Not to dampen the point, but Nebraska was without Taylor Martinez in that game. Who knows if he would have played well or poorly, but Cody Green starting that game for the 'Huskers was the great equalizer.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't see the revenge factor for TX as being that big of a factor in-light of similar circumstances vs. NE last year. I think it will be a close game which we pull out this time as we're more experienced and better than last year.

I won't have dinner until the game. Save some Longhorn for me!

Re: Revenge Game? Look back to Nebraska 2010
I highly doubt lack of motivation will be a problem for the Iowa State staff and team.

Case: it's what's for dinner.
