I watch too much football, probably. I have never seen a team get in the opposing teams face after every play. Even if the other team converts a first down. You have obviously never played football if you believe this team has earned it's swagger. Swagger is an attribute of playing well, and winning. Not playing like ***, and winning by the skin of your teeth.

This team has finally had it's sense knocked into them. They are the bottom third of the Big 12, and need to play with a chip on their shoulder, not a false swagger. When they do that, then they have a chance to win again.

Not to interrupt the meltdown here but i honestly don't understand how corners seem to always be the biggest talkers. If you get beat, they score, and everybody knows it. Maybe it's the one on one nature of the job. Not into hockey or soccer, but aren't the goaltenders usually pretty low key?

This is the most disappointing thing about the season for me. Coach Rhoads likes to call our team "BLUE COLLAR". Give me a freakin break. There is nothing about our team that is blue collar.

We have to flex our muscles whenever we make a big catch, I guess because we rarely do it?
We high step in the endzone when we're down by 34 points.
Our DB's feel the need to get in player's faces, even when they make a catch on us.

I've never been more embarrassed as a Cyclone fan. And not by our play, but lack of discipline and knowledge of the game.
This and needs to change soon.........this crap is directly linked to the lack of discipline that has us leading the world in penalties and turnovers.

And to the person that said there's nothing a coach can do about it and that these are just college kids... that is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard. So you're saying that Paul Rhoads has lost total control of his team and there's nothing he can do about it? Kids will be kids I guess, right?

Sit these idiots if you have to. Nobody is above anyone else on this team. Get control of it. The inmates do NOT have to run the asylum, I'm sorry.

Texas rolled us last night, and I don't remember their players acting anywhere near as bad as ours. We're they confident, yes. Did they celebrate good plays with their teammates, yes. But I don't remember seeing the Texas players making some of the gestures and the headbutting that we did. And this is Texas! They have to have a lot of prima donna attitudes on that team, but it was us that looked like we had the prima donna's, not them.
Agree, I'm voting for an early retirement.

No one said a word about the same stuff since Money got called. Did Money slow it down? Not really, he started producing though, so then it didn't matter. Once again, Cyclone nation is picking out someone to pin something on. I have seen exactly 0 posts about Lenz fumbling a kickoff. I have seen zero on the interception or the muffed handoff. Nope, everyone wants to point to a penalty that was stupid, yes, but didn't change possession of the actual ball and didn't directly give up points. It's like blaming Bartman for Game 6. Re: The jawing, celebrating, swagger...

It is just a vendetta against ISU... to try and keep us down. You watch the players in about every other conference and they do the same, they just get a pass. Look at USC... Reggie Bush was the biggest show off in college football and was NEVER called for it. As a Notre Dame fan too... we get called all the time for taunting or excessive celebration and they do nothing different than any other player from any other team.

NCAA refs are a joke... because the NCAA is a joke. At least in the NFL they have to report to someone and admit mistakes. THe NCAA NEVER reprimands their "boys"... nor investigates their cheating or gambling on games... which IMHO they do ALL the time.

Okay... had my vent of the week! : )

Thank you. When SJ bobbled the opening kick off, the first thing I thought was "this isn't gonna end well". Turned out I was right. Our best offensive players lost this game in the first four drives.

It was a bush league head-butt and it could be argued it was the point where the game began to get out of hand. Embarressed the hell out of a lot of ISU fans. Totally inexcusable.

No argument. That's not a rogue program. Also, if you are getting embarrassed by something a 22 year old you don't even know does on a football field, wow.

The blocked punt. No one has talked about that abomination either.

You honestly can't see the difference between a fumble or a blocked punt or jumping off sides or missing a field goal and a head-butt when the play is dead???

    Re: The jawing, celebrating, swagger...

I've always been a big fan of the Bud Grant saying quoted before, "Act like you've been there before." It's the way I played when I played competitive sports and it's the way I live my life now. Talking smack, imo, is nothing but motivation for the other team. Your best bet is to get up after a big play and act like it is no big deal. Why, because this is what you do all the time, you are used to success.

The problem is, it's not just ISU kids. Although we seem to get flagged for it quite a bit. It's everywhere. I forget what pro game I was watching a few weeks back, but after any run over 5 yards, the running back in that game would get up and do some kind of dance and spout off. I was getting ****** just watching it. I turned to my wife after he got stuffed for a loss and asked her, "Where's his dance now?" The thing is, I think it sets you up to look more like a fool when you fail, then it would if you just got up and headed back to the huddle. I wish more kids acted like Walter Payton. But this is something that isn't going away anytime soon and imo, is just going to get worse.
