It's easy to have the same amount of yards when Texas had the ball to start at our 25 every possession. Their opportunity to gain yards was severely hampered because the field position was too good.

I don't know if there is a "winnable" game this season. Having said that I think that at any point ISU could beat anyone, even Texas if they played them again. If they can actually go an entire game without shooting themselves in the foot, I like their chances in any game. Still proud to be a Cyclone fan.

They had the second half to pad yardage but yet this D stood tall and held them to 3 pts in the half. The way they stuck to it made me proud of them. Now the offense on the other hand was very disfuntional. Will Herman ever send out a fundamentally sound Offense? His playcalling this year (and the past two years) has been questionable at best at times. I'm starting to lose a lot of faith in him.

Not going to a bowl game is a 100% lock if we continue to turn the ball over, commit critical penalties and behave like schizophrenics on offense.

Exactly. I thought our defense played well to start off the game, but the turnovers and penalties really caught up to us. I still think we can compete with anyone, but we need to learn from this and clean up our game

Gotta have one of the next two games to make a bowl IMO

Baylor seems like a very winnable game now. Their one signature win is a 50-48 win at home against TCU. That win doesn't seem impressive at all now. Not to mention them halfway choking yesterday @ K-State.

Although it's hard to imagine ISU playing a game that doesn't involve missed FGs, crazy first half turnovers, and penalties so who knows.

I'm still laughing at this guy making the projections. Clearly he had one of our three remaining games we were going to win to be bowl eligible was Texas. But since we lost to them, then according to this guy, we suck. So he must have thought pretty poorly of TX, but his previous projections didn't show that. He clearly panders to his readership. He's as bad as some of the other b**bs that post on this board.

What wories me the most is our injuries. We dont play a Big 10 schedule. We play in a big boy league. We dont have the depth, imo, to win games in this league with so many key players injured.

In his defense, its not that we lost, its how we lost. If we lost a close, competitive game, maybe his predictions stayed the same. But having another game where we destroy ourselves with penalties\turnovers (this time we just couldnt overcome them), until we show we can fix that and its not just early season roughness, it will be hard to pick us in any game aside from maybe Kansas.

This is the biggest concern that I have. No FB team is worth a darn without an OL and the Clones took a couple more steps toward not having a line last night. The only plus I see is that the reserves are seeing plenty of action for next year.

I don't see any way we make a bowl. 1 game is a fluke. 2 games is unfortunate. 3 games is a pattern. 4 games is reality.

I think we can overcome it with Kansas, but that's it.

Nah. Same errors as we had against Iowa and we were picked for a bowl. Same errors as UCONN and we were picked for a bowl. Same errors against UT and now no bowl. BS, we've got this. It was the wake up we needed. We've got three in us. I'll be at the Baylor game looking for our fourth win. If we get back to the jet we'll get some wins.

The more games we play with that pattern, the less easy it is to say 'well, they'll probably clean that up and be able to win some games'.
