Where are the interceptions?
At the beginning of the year, we were all worried about our d-line, and excited for our playmakers in the back 7, but where are those playmakers. Through 4 games we 1 interception from a d-lineman, correct?
Can anyone give an explanation for our lack of INT's? Is it the scheme? the lack of pressure on the QB? Are our db's like LJ, Benton, and Reeves not as good as we thought?
At this point, I think I'm more concerned about our lack of creating turnovers than our own turnovers.
Re: Where are the interceptions?
Lack of playing teams who throw.
Re: Where are the interceptions?
Can't really explain it. It is what it is. Just win.
Re: Where are the interceptions?
Our lack of creating turnovers is not promising. Add that in with our offense's love of 1st quarter turnovers and you have a recipe for disaster or 37-14.
Re: Where are the interceptions?
I've been wondering the same thing. In recent years, even if we've been bad on defense, we've still been able to create a fair amount of turnovers. So far this season, it doesn't seem like our defensive players are aware of where the ball is until the receiver they're covering has it in their hands. Our DB's don't seem to be looking back much to locate the ball, but maybe that's how they're being coached. I don't know.

Perfect example of this last night was when Texas ran that reverse to the near side, pitched it back to McCoy, who hit Shipley down the sideline for a 40+ yard TD. Washington had perfect coverage on Shipley, had he just turned around to see the ball, he could have easily intercepted that pass as it was little under thrown, or at least knocked it down....Reeves especially is having a hard time locating the ball when it's thrown his way.
Re: Where are the interceptions?
We're playing much more man coverage this year, and you don't get as many INTs in man coverage. Reeves has been close to about 3 of them though...
