Re: Poor Sportsmanship - ISU vs. Texas Edition
We had one loudmouth Texas fan behind us. In the 3rd quarter I finally told him to shut the f up. He wasn't happy, but his wife said she was sorry. She then announced that she did not drive 12 hours to go to a game with an "azz". And turned and left. The guy dropped his head and followed her out of the stadium. I am sure his drive home to Texas was enjoyable!!!

Re: Poor Sportsmanship - ISU vs. Texas Edition
I was really upset with the "fans" in my section that clearly do not know the rules of football and constantly complain every single time a penalty is called, somehow they think Mack Brown paid off the officials. I don't remember one of those calls on ISU that I disagreed with.

It is even worse being in the student section becuase there are students around me every single game that never shut up and stop complaining about obvious penalties, the play calling, or what Jantz does.

Brian- Do you sit in section O? I have about 6 people who sit behind us and constantly complain about everything. Refs, coaching, players, video board, etc. Why do people bother getting tickets if they are never happy about anything?

Re: Poor Sportsmanship - ISU vs. Texas Edition
There were a few of our fans behind me (student section) that wouldn't shut up. There was a Texas fan about 5 rows down with a mohawk and T's shaved into the side of his head. They were yelling at him the entire second half. It was pretty annoying. We ended up moving to get away from them.
The people that always drive me nuts the most are the people who want every body around them to hear their commentary on the game, so they talk to each other loudly the whole game trying to be funny. They always end up coming off as ********.
As we were leaving the game there was a Texas fan yelling loudly, "If anyone wants to convert, now would be a good time!!!". Doubt he was even from Texas. His Longhorn hat might as well have had a wagon on it. I have no respect for Texas fans from Iowa who have no ties to Texas. I know a lot of them. Sports obviously means something different to bandwagon fans than it does to most people.

"Obnoxious fan" can be a misleading term.
I find any fan in the stadium rooting against my team "obnoxious" no matter how polite they are.

I had very poor sportsmanship in the game thread.

Re: Poor Sportsmanship - ISU vs. Texas Edition
Unfortunately my Texas fan experience also involved kids. This group of girls that looked no older then 18 were on the NW hillside where I sat only because I brought my boy for the family weekend. So I ignored all their cheering as I expect that at a college game. But then after Texas went up 20-0 one of the blonde girls yelled "suck a fat d(#k Cyclones!" The guy in front of her had two girls in grade school and turned around and just said please don't do that here. He turned around and she flipped him off behind his back. So I felt compelled since my kid was down playing catch by this point. I just said "Seriously, that is how mature you are?" She responded "Scoreboard dumbsh*t! Now shut your mouth and watch the game!" I proceeded to tell her that she had very little to do with the score, but that we all knew now what a white trash little tramp she was and I had a few more insults for her. I also asked her why she felt the need to tell the kids in front of her what her plans were for the night. Needless to say she shut her mouth the rest of the half and I was surprised that she didn't unleash on me with more of her mouth. But at half, I went up to my seats in the stands. Definitely didn't represent her supposed school too well. I can handle jawing, but when you have to break out profanities in front of kids I get a little worked up.

Well done ********.

Well done ********. If they are stupid enough to come to the game in that condition, then get security to haul their butts out of there so they can puke on someone else. The people in your section are a lot more understanding than I would have been.

It was right after they blew the call saying we didn't get in the end zone for our first td. Replay overruled that call at least.

Re: Poor Sportsmanship - ISU vs. Texas Edition
With what Texas did the the Southwest Conference, that fact that they were the key reason that two Big8 members left, and that one of their biggest rivals wants to leave the conference now to get away from them, I honestly do not care what happens to Texas fans within the boundaries of the law.
I am through with UT arrogance and I honestly hope they lose at everything. I see about 4 lossed come for them this year though, so I should have plenty to be happy about.
