ISU almost gives away tickets for it's FCS games, UNI or whoever. So you actually believe that Iowa fans want ISU to lose so bad that they will come dressed as UNI fans? I love the notion that UNI doesnt have any actual fans, they're just pretend fans. UNI has plenty of "real" fans and plenty of fans that are as passionate about UNI sports as ISU fans are about Cyclone sports.
Also, what does cheap tickets have to do with fans coming to Jack Trice or Iowa City for a football game? The cost of athletics is added into tuition, so students get free admission to home contests. UNI students get the same ticket prices as all other visiting teams at Jack Trice and Kinnick. I'm also not sure what you meant by they give tickets away to their FCS games. There is no FCS or FBS in any other sport besides football.

You've had a good run in Basketball and I cheered your team on when they upset KU, but ISU has still had much more success than UNI overall. I know that's easy to forget after the Coach Mac years, but have some perspective.
Honestly, it's posters like this that make me empathize with the OP.

Most UNI fans are Iowa fans first and UNI fans second. Like I am an Iowa State fan first and a Grand View fan second. Having a smaller school you like to follow is okay.

Honestly, it's posters like this that make me empathize with the OP. We beat ISU in basketball in the Eustachy and Floyd years as well. Just sayin'.

To say they are all Iowa fans though is completely absurd.

There is no FCS or FBS in any other sport besides football. I have a lot of friends who went to UNI and are hardcore Iowa fans. I've seen these same people throw on purple and buy cheap hillside tickets to Jack Trice to root against the Cyclones.
By the same token, my fiance went to UNI, is actually a Panther fan, and I threw on purple and went with her to Kinnick in '09 to root against the Hawkeyes. If we have a Thursday opener next year, we're going to head up to Madison to cheer for UNI at Camp Randall too.

Volleyball? UNI's volleyball team is good, but ISU has had more success.
Track? I am a huge track and field fan, but seriously...
Football? You've had more success in the FCS than ISU in the BCS. But no, UNI has NOT been better for many years against ISU, that's just insane.

Nobody grows up wanting to go to UNI, play for UNI or have anything to do with UNI. They settle.
